Prologue

Astrid Pov

We are officially on our way to Icaris my mom is a world renowned scientist and my dad passed away when I was little my mom kept her name and so did I.

My name is astrid Simpson I was named after my ancestor she was a shield maiden in viking times astrid hofferson we know so much because her diary has been passed down through the family for centuries. It's really old and written on norse runes my mom taught me to read them as did her mother before her.

The name astrid means divine beauty in her diary she speaks of dragons and riding them with all her friends after their war with them was over thanks to her best friend turned husband hiccup haddock the 3rd. Astrids dragon was a deadly nadder named storm fly her magnesium flame could burn with the heat of the sun.

Any way enough about that here we are icaris it looks amazing a science lab built on a cliff where alot of earthquakes used to happen but now they stopped after Dr kullerson and security chief baker blew up the fault line amazing right.

My mom and I will be living in a dome in rakke town with every one else it's going to feel like home after we settle in my mom always says this same quote 'there are no strangers here just friends you haven't met' so I can make friends in this town but I like to be on my own and read astrids diary of her adventures with her friends and wear the necklace her betrothed hiccup gave her 1300 years ago.

So that's me and now let me tell you My adventures in Icaris and the dragon realms.
