⁺˚⋆。°✩₊✩°。⋆˚⁺"What did you say you did?" Hoseok's eyes were wide with disbelief, leaning across the table in the café, staring at Taehyung like he'd just sprouted another head.
Taehyung rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. "I'm not repeating shit," he muttered, shooting a glare at Hoseok.
Hoseok snatched Taehyung's glasses from the table and held them up, turning them around like he was inspecting a high-tech gadget. "What spy movie did you binge-watch last night? 'Mission Impossible: Taehyung Edition'? '007'? Seriously, who hides a recording device in their glasses in real life?"
Jimin, who'd been quiet up until now, was rubbing his temples like he had a headache that Taehyung personally caused. "Tae, this is just too much for my brain to handle right now," he said with a sigh. "How is that even possible? The guy? The one you thought was dead for years? The same guy you... I mean, c'mon, Tae. You were in love with him, weren't you?"
Taehyung's jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing slightly as he shook his head with a stubborn defiance. "I never said I loved him," he muttered, though even he could hear the crack in his own voice.
Jimin didn't even try to hold back his snort, his face twisting into an expression that screamed 'Are you kidding me?' Raising an eyebrow, he crossed his arms and leaned in closer. "Oh, shut up. You're not fooling anyone, least of all me," Jimin shot back. "Remember when we first met? The way you said, 'You can't be my best friend because I already had one.' And every single time I brought up the topic of your so-called 'best friend,' you'd go all sad, heartbroken Romeo on me. So, don't even try denying it, man. We both know the truth."
Taehyung's face went blank, his lips pressing into a thin line. His silence was more of an admission than he realized.
Hoseok threw his hands up dramatically, shaking his head. "And why am I the last to know about this 'Guy' drama? Like, what's going on, Taehyungie? Am I not your ride-or-die anymore?"
Jimin turned to Hoseok. "Oh please, Hyung, if Tae had told you, then everyone from Seoul to Busan would know by now. You can't keep anything to yourself!"
"That's fair," Hoseok said, raising his hands in surrender, "but c'mon, I want to know!"
Jimin shifted his focus back to Taehyung, his voice softening a bit. "But really, Tae, you never told us what actually happened all those years ago. What went down between you and him? We're your friends. We deserve to know, don't you think?"
Hoseok nodded in agreement, leaning closer as if he was about to hear the juiciest secret of his life. "Yeah, man. Spill the tea! This sounds like some serious, life-changing stuff. How did it all go to hell?"
Taehyung sighed, running a hand through his hair as he stared blankly at the table in front of him. Memories that he tried so hard to bury crept back into his mind, refusing to stay locked away. His thoughts drifted back to a time he could never forget, a time that haunted him every single day. How could he even begin to explain the pain, the betrayal, and the ghost of the boy who had once owned his heart?
