NICHOLAS

Mount Othrys

I crouch and pump my fists to the ground, causing cracks to form in the soil, through which undead soldiers rise.

Kronos scowls at my move. "Predictable for a Son of Hades."

The army of undead soldiers rush towards Kronos, their decaying forms hungry for battle. The king of Titans scowls as he prepares to defend himself.

Magnus, Nico and I look at each other with smirks before trailing behind the undead army I just summoned. The three of us leap and kick Kronos jaw backwards in synch.

But apparently, that was a bad thing to do. Because his expression shifts from stunned to anger. "Insolent demigods!" He growls, his voice thundering through the air. He releases a burst of energy from his scythe, pushing us back and obliterating the zombie army.

SARA

Mount Othrys

I crush the head of a soldier of Apophis before standing up and panting heavily as I look around the chaos around me, demigods and monsters fused in combat.

Then, taking a small breather, I close my eyes and Coptic words flow out of my mouth. Then, the ground shakes and dead Ancient Egyptian soldiers rise from the ground. To defeat Ancient Egyptian soldiers, you must restructure Ancient Egyptian soldiers.

"Womp womp, Apophis." I say with a sly grin as the snake god looks at me with anger and disbelief.

Putting my hands on my hips, I smirk at Leo who's standing right next to me in awe. "You're welcome."

"Where'd you learn that from?!" He asks in an astonished tone.

"The perks of being a Child of Anubis."

"You're a wildcard. Remind me to never get on your bad side."

Our banter is cut short as Apophis growls in annoyance, his thundering voice echoing across the battlefield once known as Camp Half Blood.

"Enough."

With that, he slithers into the soil. Silence falls until his head pops out of the ground, killing a bunch of the soldiers I just raised along with a couple demigods too.

"Uh...Sara?" Leo points to The Big House, where Apophis is making his way to.

"KEEP HIM AT BAY!" I yell out.

The remaining demigods scramble to form a defensive line, trying to stop Apophis from reaching the Big House. But Apophis is relentless, plowing through their defenses like a bulldozer.

I quickly iris message Sadie. "Sadie! Apophis is on his way! GET READY!"

Sadie responds back almost instantly, her expression serious and urgent.

"I'm preparing for a binding spell, but it will take time!" She replies. "Hold him off until then!"

The demigod army (or what's left of it), now rallied, digs their heels in and prepares for the last stand, as they form a defensive wall (again), attempting to hold off Apophis's relentless onslaught (again).

Apophis, seeing the demigod army in the way, raises his head high, his eyes glowing with malicious intent. He plops through the army and reaches Carter and Sadie. He looks down at the piece which Carter is holding.

"Finally!"

However, before the god of chaos can make a move, a voice screams from the sky.

"FEAR THE BEER!"

It's none other than Mr. D, divebombing from the sky while holding a huge can of ale.

"NO!" I reach out desperately, just inches away from the piece. However, Loki's hand grabs my ankle, preventing me from closing your fingers around it. "I don't think so." He says, his tone almost mocking.

"OH, DON'T YOU DA—" I'm cut short as he throws me aside before snatching the piece in his hand.

"Gotcha." He says, looking pleased with himself.

I lay on the ground, beaten and bruised. Rage and frustration fill me as I watch Loki holding the piece, his victory seemingly imminent.

"Peace." And then, the God of Lies vanishes.

"n-no..."

The feeling of defeat crashes over  e, the thought of losing slowly settling in your mind. The battle had been lost, and the fate of all pantheons now hangs in the balance. I stand up and look at Jason, Piper and Will, a look of dread washing over my face.

"Did we just lose?"

Jason is the first to speak up. "Was...all of this a big womp wo—"

Before he can finish his sentence, Fenrir sneaks up and clamps his jaws into his head, biting it off before swallowing the Son of Jupiter WHOLE.

The three of us gasp in complete shock and horror. Of all the deaths I've seen, this has got to be the most brutal one.

My breathing quickens and I let my anger out. Letting out an angry cry, I throw Stormbreaker at Fenrir, the blades separating the body from the head.
