"Are you mad?" I shrieked as the door to the Undercroft slammed shut behind us. "Sebastian, they will be crawling all over this school in minutes. Omins and Evelyn—"
"We're already here," Ominis interjected, his tone heavy and distraught. "And they won't be after you, on the account of they forgot why they were even at your house in the first place. However, it won't be long until the Ministry figures it out. So, we bought some time, but not much. We need a plan moving forwards."
Sebastian started pacing, hands moving as he muttered to himself. Ominis and I waited patiently for him to come up with something. "What's the likelihood of rewriting an entire world's memory of one singular person?"
"Probably the same as faking my death," I scoffed. "Not likely." My head dropped as the realization hit me. "I need to let them take me."
"No," Sebastian immediately refused. He closed the distance between us in a few long strides. "No. Azkaban is no place for teenagers. I would know."
I shrugged as if there was no other option. "My only hope is that, if the Wizengamot freed you, they would hear me out. I can offer to put the magic in a repository. I can—"
He gripped my shoulders tightly, searching my eyes for an answer. "You're under the Fidelius. How are you going to explain to them something that you haven't been able to explain to even me?"
"It's either I turn myself in, or the three of us are taken in and Evelyn obliviated. You deserve freedom, Bash. I can work my way out of this. I'm the strongest force in the wizarding world, aren't I? Can you imagine the outrage if the world's savior ends up being apprehended simply just having power? Who would keep everyone safe then?" Sebastian's jaw set tightly, but he didn't offer any words.
"She's right," Ominis agreed. "I hate that she's right, but she is. They can't possibly, truly charge her when she is the sole source of safety."
"The Ministry is just as corrupt," Sebastian finally hissed, turning towards Ominis. "Who's to say they won't just kill her?"
I cupped his face and pulled his forehead down to mine. "I love you, Bash." With a pained groan, he tugged me into a tight embrace.
"God, I hope you know what you're doing, Clara."
I had to stifle the laugh that wanted to bubble past my lips. I seldom had any idea what I was doing, and certainly not now. However, I knew one thing.
I was about to turn my life upside down.
