"You asked me to stay for dinner... so why the hell am I food shopping with you right now?"
ㅤStrolling down the aisles of big Tesco with a trolley, Charlie was grumbling curses under his breath. Meanwhile, Liam was carrying himself light-heartedly. He had an eyebrow slightly lifted whilst his lips turned up at the corners. He looked amused.
ㅤCharlie couldn't have been grumpier, dragging his feet as he walked. He didn't want to be there.
ㅤ"Someone very special is coming over," Liam hummed. "So it wouldn't hurt to make them something they like."
ㅤ"And what's that got to do with me?"
ㅤLiam smirked and Charlie wanted to swipe that smile right off his face.
ㅤ"You'll see."
ㅤIt was unfair. Liam hadn't been the first tosser to wind Charlie up but, strangely, had been the first left unscathed. Grudgingly, he quite liked Liam playful and mischievous. It was pleasant on the eyes—not that he'd ever confess this.
ㅤWhilst Liam evaluated the selections of pasta, Charlie bent down and thunked his head against the shopping trolley he'd been forced to mule. He let out a dragging sigh he knew would be heard. The other man quietly chuckled.
ㅤLiam seemed to be doing better. He still carried himself carefully but would ultimately be fine. Charlie wouldn't feel happy if Liam dropped dead; the company was unique.
ㅤA thunk snapped Charlie to attention. He studied what Liam chucked onto the pile.
ㅤ"...Lasagna?"
ㅤLiam urged him forward. "Yep. Lasagna is her favourite. So, that's what we're going to cook her."
ㅤ"We?"
ㅤ"Yes, we. You're going to help, of course."
ㅤCharlie scoffed and 'accidentally' rammed the trolley into Liam's arse. The other man turned to glare.
ㅤ"You're nuts if you think I'm going to help you with shit. Why not tell me who the guest is first? Who knows, it might make me a bit more agreeable."
ㅤ"Even if you were more agreeable, you'd still be an utter cunt."
ㅤ"Maybe." Charlie shrugged. "But I know you secretly get off on it."
ㅤ"My sister."
ㅤCharlie stared. "Huh?"
ㅤ"The person coming over is my older sister. I thought now would be the perfect occasion to ask her some questions. That's why you're there as well."
ㅤCharlie's brain stalled. "I don't get it."
ㅤLiam attempted a droll smirk. "Big bad Bradley doesn't understand something. Well, there's a shocker."
