Quinn looked around the forest. Quickly recognizing it. "W- What? How- How am I here?" Quinn stuttered. She stood up straight, and rubbed her eyes to confirm this was real, which it was. Quinn suddenly got hit with a gust of wind. It was chilly, really chilly. She shivered. She started to walk around, hoping to find warmth. She looked around as she walked. There were trees everywhere, the trees had long vines that hung off of it. There was heavy fog, covering most of the ground. It was cold, and eery. Every step Quinn took, she could hear the crunching of leaves underneath her.
After a while of walking, Quinn still hasn't found warmth. "Damn." Quinn mutters. "It's cold. Where even am I?"
Quinn could hear a crunching noise coming from behind her. It was clear it was leaves but it wasn't clear what, or who, made that noise. Quinn's breath hitches in fear, she slowly turns around. There was nothing. "What the hell?" Quinn said. She relaxes, and turns back around. When she turned back around, she was met with a tall, skinny, brown creature. The creature was skinny, so skinny you could see its bones. The creature's head was was upside down. It's face was distorted with black eyes. Quinn remembered that Mr. Stewart briefy looked like this. Quinn stared at the creature with wide eyes. When Quinn looked at the creature, it screeched. It's screech was loud, and high pitched. Quinn winced when she heard the creature's screech but she knew she had to run. Since the creature was so tall, and thin, she could slide under its legs. Quinn quickly ran backwards to get a boost before running towards the creature, and sliding under its legs. The creature screeches again, and starts chasing her. Quinn got up, and started running. "This was not a part of any of my dreams!" Quinn exclaimed. She kept running from the creature until she tripped on a branch. She fell face first into the ground, she rolled onto her back, and sat up. She looked up at the creature, drool started dripping from its mouth as it got closer to Quinn. "W- Wait, please! No!" Quinn yelled while backing up, struggling to get up. The creature raised it's claw, about to scratch Quinn before a masked woman, wearing all black, swung from a tree vine. The woman was holding a sharp, wooden spear that she held up as she landed on the ground. Before the creature could react, the masked woman threw the wooden spear, impaling the creature's chest. The creature screeched, and fell down. The masked woman looked at Quinn. "Run, before it gets back up." The woman warned before running off.
Quinn stared at the woman running away in shock then at the creature. She quickly gets up, and runs the opposite direction of where the masked woman went.
Quinn went back to running, she ran until she got tired. She stopped for a break, to catch her breath. "God, I'm so tired..." Quinn said breathlessly. She felt dizzy, and lightheaded. She took another breath before passing out from exhaustion.Hours later, Quinn opened her eyes. Bright lights hit her eyes. She was on a bed? She looked around, and saw a brown haired boy around her age sitting on a chair with his knees to his chest, staring at her with his big blue eyes.
"Hi!" The boy said with a smile.
Quinn quickly sat up in shock. "Who are you?" She asked in a panicked tone.
"I'm Oliver! I found you passed out on the ground. I didn't want the monsters to eat you so I brought you to our bunker." Oliver said.
"Our?" Quinn asked.
On que, a masked woman came through a door holding a teacup in her hand. It was the same masked woman from earlier based on the same bandanna over her face, and black clothing. The woman walked over to Quinn, and handed her the teacup.
"I'm Clarabelle. You can call me Bee." Bee said.
"You are the same girl who saved me earlier!" Quinn exclaimed as she grabbed the teacup, seeing there was tea inside, she took a sip.
"Yeah, don't do that again. You almost got eaten by those monsters." Bee scolded.
"Well, I didn't know that! I just got here. I don't even know what those are! I don't even know what this place is!" Quinn said. "Relax. You're safe here with us! What's your name?" Oliver asked.
Quinn sighed. "I'm Quinn."
"Can I call Q?" Olivier asked.
"Sure, as long as I can call you Olive." Quinn agreed.
"So, how'd you get here?" Bee asked.
Quinn drank some tea before responding. "Well, I've been having dreams of this place since school started a few months ago. This morning when I went to class, my favorite teacher looked weird. Kind of like how that creature looked, with the face, and eyes. Then he went back to normal, and we started doing a test, except the test questions were frightening. The last question was; "Would anyone care if you went missing?" It was weird so I asked my teacher, but he went back to looking weird, then I appeared here!"
Bee, and Oliver look at each other when they hear Quinn's story.
"That sounds really familiar to how we got here too." Oliver said.
"Was your teacher's last name Stewart?" Bee asked.
"Yeah. Mr. Stewart." Quinn said.
"So was ours!" Oliver exclaimed.
"Do you think they're all connected to why we're here?" Quinn asked.
"Maybe, but let's not jump to conclusions so quick." Bee said before walking out of the room.
Quinn sighed, and took a look around the bunker. She was laying on one of the two beds, there was another one on the other side of the room. The bed she was one had plain sheets, and blankets on it. The other bed had bright blankets, and stuffed animals on it. There was a random tire in the corner. On one side of the room there was a plethora of wooden weapons, like: wooden daggers, wooden spears, and tozondas. There was a table in the middle of the room with notebooks, and pens on it. There was three doors, one door had a sign that said: "EXIT" the other door said: "KITCHEN" the last door said: "BATHROOM"
Quinn turned to Oliver as she put her tea cup down. "So, you guys live in this bunker?"
Oliver nods. "Yep."
"How long have you two been here?" Quinn asked.
"I've been here since 1995. Bee has been here since 2015." Oliver paused. "What year is it now?" Oliver asked.
"It's 2024. You guys have been here for that long?" Quinn asked.
"Whoa! It's 2024? That's a long time." Oliver said, keeping his smile up despite learning how long he's actually been here.
"You seem happy about that." Quinn commented.
"I'm not, but what can you do about it? We can't escape." Oliver said.
"Wait." She paused. "Will I be able to escape?" Quinn asked, nervous.
"It's complicated, Q." Oliver said. "Since you're new, you'll only be here during daytime, back to the real world at nighttime. Since me, and Bee have been here for years. We're stuck here all day, everyday."
Quinn had a empathetic look on her face when she heard Oliver, and Bee where stuck here. "Well." Quinn paused. "Is the anything I should know?"
Oliver kept his smile. "Yes! You can bring stuff from the real world to this world! All you need to do is hold it, or wear it."
"So, I could bring my belongings down here?" Quinn asked.
"If you want!" Olivier said. "Me and Bee have all we need. You should bring some of your own stuff to this world!" Oliver paused before remembering something. "By the way, while you're in this world. In the real world, you're unconscious."
