With breakfast finished and a renewed sense of purpose, Tayla grabbed her jacket while Amber stood up and stretched, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Alright, we need to take a look at that big-ass backyard," she declared, her voice filled with excitement.
Jaxon raised an eyebrow. "You mean the overgrown jungle we saw yesterday?"
"Exactly!" Amber replied, bouncing on her toes. "It could be a treasure trove back there. Who knows what we might find?"
Tayla felt her heart race again at the prospect of exploration. "I'm down! Let's see what this place has hiding in its backyard."
The three of them headed towards the back door, with Amber leading the charge. Jaxon pushed the door open, revealing a sprawling yard that seemed to stretch endlessly before them. The grass was wild and unruly, with weeds and dandelions competing for dominance. Overgrown bushes lined the edges, and a few tall trees cast shadows over the sunlit patches of ground.
Amber stepped out first, inhaling deeply. "It smells like nature... and maybe a little like neglect, but that just adds to the charm," she joked, glancing back at the others.
Tayla laughed, stepping outside to join her. "Charm? Is that what we're calling it?"
Jaxon followed, shaking his head with an amused smile. "More like a serious landscaping project."
Amber began to wander, her eyes darting around in search of anything interesting. "Look at this!" she called out, pointing to an old, rusted swing set tucked away in one corner. "It's like a relic from another time."
"Or a safety hazard," Jaxon remarked, but Tayla could see the glimmer of curiosity in his eyes.
"Imagine how cool it could look if we cleaned it up," Tayla mused, stepping closer to inspect it. "We could have our own little hangout back here."
"Yeah, a hangout full of questionable safety," Jaxon countered, though he was already imagining it in his mind, too.
Amber spun around, a mischievous grin on her face. "C'mon, it'll be fun! Plus, it'll give us something to do while we're figuring out our lives."Here's the continuation with Amber's line about the backyard:
