THIRD PERSON

One week had passed since Floria last saw Jayden, or rather, received his orders. They made her wonder if she and Ivory had unknowingly crossed a line during their visit to his home. The uncertainty had plagued her all week, depriving her of sleep. However, today Floria was determined to put on her brightest smile and be at her happiest, for she and Ivory were visiting their favorite person in the world.

Mrs. Camilla, their benefactor from high school six years ago, had taken a keen interest in the girls and their enduring friendship. As Floria and Ivory clutched hands, beaming, the taxi drove through the luxurious neighborhood, familiar to them now. They pulled up to Mrs. Camilla's residence.

"If it isn't my favorite girls in the whole wide world," Mrs. Camilla exclaimed, descending the stairs to envelop them in a warm hug. "I missed you girls so much."

"We missed you too, Mrs. Camilla," they chimed in unison.

"You didn't tell us you were coming," Ivory whined, eliciting a chuckle from Mrs. Camilla.

"Forgive my manners," Mrs. Camilla said. "My son returns from his business trip today. I'm hoping we can have dinner tomorrow before he's back to his busy schedule. He barely visits his father and me in Abuja."

"I'm sorry about that," Floria apologized sincerely.

Mrs. Camilla smiled warmly. "Enough about my son. Tell me about you girls. What have you been up to?"

"I'll suggest we grab a snack; it's a whole lot," Ivory piped up. "Let's head to the kitchen, girls; I'm sure Floria won't mind making use of her special cookies."

Mrs. Camilla beamed, ready for the bickering that would ensue between the girls. As they walked into the kitchen, Ivory announced, "Floria met someone, and they really like each other."

"Oh my god! That's so lovely," Mrs. Camilla gushed, catching the flush on Floria's face.

"He has her all hot and bothered from a mile away," Ivory teased.

"Ivy!" Floria reprimanded, feeling extremely shy.

"Well, he's all hot and bothered for her too, in a manly way," Ivory continued.

"He has this weird kink of watching Floria sleep, so he orders stuff from our cafe, has Floria deliver, and gets off watching her sleep," Ivory finished, smirking.

Mrs. Camilla burst into laughter. "God! That's the most hilarious story I've heard in a while."

"Mrs. Camilla, please don't believe her," Floria clarified. "There's nothing going on between us. He's just our special customer."

"By special customer, you mean he orders from your cafe and has Floria deliver?" Ivory chimed in.

Floria shrugged shyly.

"Who's this man?" Mrs. Camilla inquired.

"Jayden Wellington," Floria replied.

Mrs. Camilla's eyes widened. "The young business mogul?"

Ivory nodded. "That Jayden Wellington."

Mrs. Camilla beamed. "You mean that Jayden Wellington?"

"Yes, that Jayden, sweet Mrs. Camilla," Ivory confirmed.

"You have to trust me on this, Mrs. Camilla," Floria pleaded.

Mrs. Camilla smiled. "Oh, I trust you, dear. But I don't think there's anything wrong with having feelings for Jayden."

Floria's embarrassment deepened.

Mrs. Camilla was genuinely surprised when she heard her son's name mentioned, but she couldn't have been happier to know he'd met someone like Floria. Floria was a great person with a beautiful heart and amazing personality - too kind for this world.
