Courtney layed in bed next to her girlfriend, dreaming of her. She dreamed they were alone on a beach at night, and Violet was laying under a palm tree with her. She was running her hands through Courtney's soft hair, and lazily looking in her eyes. Courtney continued dreaming and dreaming, smiling slightly in her sleep.
"Courtney... Courtney, wake up, doll. It's morning, we've gotta go soon." Violet tried to wake up her sleeping girlfriend, who was sound asleep, wearing her blue and white striped onesie pajamas and clutching her light pink baby blanket.
Courtney's eyes fluttered. "Mmm... Violet..." She looked up and saw Violet wearing a black skirt and a white long sleeve shirt. Violet was smiling down at her, wondering how to get her up.
"You ready to have fun today, Courtney?" She asked Courtney, who was still half asleep. They were headed to an amusement park in west Seattle.
Courtney smiled her crooked, yellowed smile and sighed happily, giving Violet the obvious answer. Violet giggled at her. "Ok, I'm going downstairs to get a couple things. Get dressed, ok, my love?"
Courtney sleepily looked at her and whispered, "Mm-hm."
Violet kissed her and went downstairs to get a few snacks, her sweater, Courtney's sweater, and Courtney's mittens and scarf. It was late December, so it was snowing out, and very cold. She packed an extra sweater for Courtney so she wouldn't catch a cold. She checked to make sure she had everything, and went upstairs to get Courtney.
As soon as Violet got back to her room, she burst out laughing. Courtney hadn't moved since she went downstairs, she was still curled up in bed, sound asleep. She walked over to her, grabbed her pink dress, and whispered in her ear, "It's ok, I'll carry you to the car."
She went downstairs and put her bag in her car, then went back upstairs to get Courtney. She picked her up, grabbed Courtney's teddy bear, and headed to the car, Courtney still clutching her blanket. She gently placed Courtney in the passenger seat and got in and drove off.
Even though she was asleep, Violet could feel Courtney's excitement radiating from her.
