In a dilapidated building complex within the South Harbor District slum.
This used to be a large lumber processing plant, belonging to the Sain Empire. Since its military withdrawal, the area gradually fell into disuse, and now it has become a place for some illegal activities.
Today, a group of individuals wearing dirty gray cloaks, with a brain-shaped emblem intricately embroidered in black thread on their cloaks, gathered here together. They spread their arms toward the house in front of them and called out loudly, "Ah—my Lord, my great Master, after half a year, you have finally forgiven your humble servant and granted us the opportunity to atone before you!"
As they spoke, all of them knelt down on the ground, their heads striking heavily against the floor. Some even bled from their heads, the wounds mingling with the dirt, but they felt nothing.
Inside the house they worshiped, through the window, one could see a gigantic brain-like creature, its base covered with strange Tentacle Limbs, slowly wriggling and looking immensely agitated.
Who am I?
Where am I right now?
I remember a lot of knowledge, but I've forgotten who I am...
Those humans outside, they actually call me "Master"?
Oh, I am their Master and their faith in my eyes; therefore, I should lead them to plunder more souls...
...
In the convent's study, Hawthorne sat upright in his chair, eyes closed and spine straight.
Behind him, the slightly slender Yuta raised her arms, her middle fingers resting on his temples on either side, also with her eyes closed, as she steadily delivered streams of Magic Power into his mind.
Witch's Night had passed nearly a week ago, and during this time, Hawthorne and Yuta had engaged in very deep communication.
Then, he became aware that perhaps even Yuta herself didn't know that she had mastered an Eldritch Invocation.
It is called "Magic Energy Will."
In short, this is a means of utilizing magic to train one's willpower and form a layer of protection around the souls to avoid mental control from enemies. It can also prevent certain continuous spells from being interrupted.
Because Yuta actually mastered this ability, on the night of Witch's Night, she was able to actively choose to succumb to madness and then, after being purified by Hawthorne for the third time, recover some of her sanity and turn to choose an escape route.
Due to its resistance to mental control-type spells, "Magic Energy Will," this Eldritch Invocation, is considered a necessary ability for Warlocks in the later stages of their development. However, its priority is not very high, at least far below that of "Agonizing Blast," which directly increases damage.
But even so, it is certainly better than not having it at all. Whether Die understands the training methods for the "Agonizing Blast" Eldritch Invocation is uncertain at this point.
Thus, with the notion that having a bird in hand is better than having two in the bush, he drafted a new but relatively simple pact with Yuta and established a magical connection with her, allowing her to guide Hawthorne on how to train this Eldritch Invocation.
As a result, we now have this scene: Yuta feeling the special shape in her mind and attempting to use her Magic Power to directly construct a model in Hawthorne's mind, allowing him to feel it and learn by that feeling.
This is akin to teaching a child who is born deaf to speak, where she could only place her hand on the teacher's throat to feel the vibrations and then attempt to imitate it, which is certainly a very inefficient method.
However, there was no choice; Yuta did not know how to teach. Many of her abilities were innate, and she did not understand the principles behind them—especially not how to instruct humans, who are completely different from them, to achieve the same things.
But fortunately, although this method is inefficient, with the support of the study, Hawthorne's mind was exceptionally sharp, so the progress was relatively smooth.
"Phew..."
Gradually, Yuta let out a breath; her Magic Power became somewhat disordered. She did not dare to delay and hurriedly withdrew her power to avoid harming her Master.
Helping Hawthorne find that "feeling" required extremely fine control of her Magic Power, which was also a huge drain on her energy; thus, it wouldn't take long before she would feel fatigued.
Sensing her change, Hawthorne reopened his eyes, then got up and embraced her: "You've worked hard."
Yuta nestled against his chest, breathing lightly, and softly asked, "How does Master feel today?"
In response, Hawthorne smiled gently: "I feel great. At this pace, um, if all goes well, I should be able to master this thing in about another week."
"Yuta, you've been a great help."
Upon hearing this, even Yuta, who usually had a cold demeanor and an unflappable expression, couldn't help but break into an angelic smile.
After lightly kissing her lips, Hawthorne loosened his embrace and said, "Go back and rest. I'll head to the kitchen to cook."
Then, the two of them linked arms and walked out of the study together. Hawthorne headed straight to the kitchen, while Yuta returned to the dormitory to rest.
However, she had barely taken two steps when she heard a sarcastic female voice mockingly say to her, "You've really done something great, Yuta!"
Yuta turned her head and saw a nun of similar height to Heidi, wearing a mocking smile, looking at her with ill intent. Her pink hair was mostly hidden beneath a hat, with only a few strands showing; her small mouth resembled a cherry, with thin lips slightly turned up in a smile that offered no warmth, appearing instead quite spiteful, as if she always wore a mocking smile on her delicate face.
Her pupils were like those of a venomous snake, with yellow irises and a dark, vertical slit in the center, radiating a sinister and dangerous light.
Although she was also dressed in a black nun's habit, the fabric of her robe was clearly lighter and thinner, so even though her chest and hips were nowhere near as full as Heidi's, her curves remained tantalizingly exposed, tempting the gaze of onlookers.
What was most striking, however, was her waist, slender and graceful like that of a water snake. With her hands clasped in front of her chest and body slightly leaning forward in a prayer pose, as she walked, her small waist and perky hips swayed like slender willows in the wind, genuinely dizzying and enchanting.
This was a woman as colorful and captivating as a venomous snake, and beneath her exquisite features lay a malice that even witches could sense: "Having killed over two hundred people, you must be quite full. Let me see if your belly is swollen like that of a Female Knight after being ravaged by an Orc, looking as big as a watermelon!"
