"Hey, pretty lady. Enjoying the weather?"

It was the kindest greeting I'd gotten so far. The flattery would have charmed me a few months ago, but I'd been feeling too small lately to receive something of the sort. I only nodded in Hidan's direction, pouring myself a cup of hot green tea.

"I am, actually," I said, my voice low as the edge of the cold sharpened in the air. Rain lightly drizzled over the cave, gradually ramping up to a moderate pour. "I love weather like this."

"I wouldn't say I love it, but I don't mind it. If this weather was a girl, maybe I'd fuck her."

I shot a wildly confused look at a grinning Hidan, but I decided not to press him on that further. The kettle behind me began to whistle again, and I turned around to pick it up off the stove. Hidan lurched forward behind me, leaning on the kitchen counter.

"What's that in your cup?"

"Green tea."

"Ew."

I laughed at Hidan's sudden disgust, and his expression seemed to soften.

"Not a fan, I presume?"

"Nah. Too bitter. If I'm drinking tea, it's milk tea all the way. And even then, it's shit unless you sweeten it."

"I like sweetening my tea too. But I don't do it all the time."

The rain began to pound against the cave walls and I made a little pout.

"I wish I could see the rain. I know it can't happen because we're hidden and all that, but it would be really nice."

Hidan shrugged and leaned his chin on his hand. "We could take a walk."

"Really? You don't mind?" I asked, perking up at the idea. Hidan smirked a little into his hand.

"Not at all, pretty girl," Hidan said, getting out of his seat and giving me a little wink. "See you in just a second."

I watched Hidan go down the hallway, then I laughed a bit, sipping some more on my tea. Just then, a green figure materialized out of the floor, slowly bursting from the muddy ground.

"You know Hidan isn't really into you, right?" Zetsu asked, his smile sickeningly sweet. "He made a bet with Kakuzu."

"I figured," I sighed, sipping on my tea. "A bet with Kakuzu, though?"

"That's right. Kakuzu said you'd never go for a guy like Hidan."

"Well, he's right," I laughed, coaxing a chuckle out of Zetsu. "But who knows? Hidan's been nice to me so far. I'll give it a shot anyway."

"You're entertaining this?"

"Why not? If we're both just having fun, what's the harm?"

Zetsu shrugged, fully emerging from the floor and walking towards the counter where I stood.

"Besides," I said, my voice lowering. "The only person who's called me that before...let's just say he's part of the reason why I'm here."

"Ah. The person your best friend had an affair with while you saved lives alone."

My smile hardened, and so did my grip on the mug of hot tea. "Okay, asshole."

Zetsu sweetly grinned back before falling back into the ground, disappearing completely. Just then, Hidan returned, and I took a deep breath to calm myself down.

"Ready or what?" Hidan asked, pulling the giant, black, furry hood of his puffer jacket over his head.

"Or what," I said, putting my mug down and following Hidan outside.
