"Nala, we need to get her out of here. Now." The king of Azahara said, looking into his wife's gold and pink eyes welling with tears, "She is in grave danger. If we keep her here any longer, your brother will find her."
"I know Xavier but I can't! She is my daughter! I can't!" Nala sobbed, her face streaked with tears.
"Nala please!" Xavier pleaded, "She'll be safer in the other world than anywhere here in our world! Please! If your brother finds her he will torture her!"
A soft knock on the large hickory door of their bedroom interrupted their conversation.
"Yes?" Nala asked, breathing deeply.
A young servant girl with freckles and black hair entered, with a young girl in her arms.
"I'm so sorry to interrupt your majesty, but your daughter wants you to put her to bed tonight. Believe me, I tried to convince her that you both were busy but she wouldn't hear it."
"That's alright Annie, you can give her to me now." Nala replied as she wrapped her arms around the small child, "Thank you Annie. You may have the rest of this beautiful evening off."
"Thank you, your highness!" Annie stammered as she rushed out of the room, her navy and purple eyes shining.
"Mama! Dada! Look what I made!" The little girl said, her eyes gleaming with pride as she held up a picture of a dog in a field with a sun, which was pretty well drawn for a four year old.
"Rainie, that's amazing!" Xavier said, his blue and teal eyes shining. "Is that puppy Emmery?" He asked.
"Yes!" Rainie squealed, holding up her Corgi stuffed animal next to the picture.
"Rainie? Would you like to go on an adventure?" Nala asked the girl, holding back tears as the child nodded her head in excitement.
"Yes mama! Where are we going?"
"Rainie, this is an adventure just for you! You get to make your own stories, just like Daddy and I!"
"If you're not going, I'm not either!" Rainie replied, crossing her arms as she sat in between her parents on the velvet couch.
"Oh honey, we can't come. We would ruin the fun!" Xavier exclaimed.
"No! No! No! No! No!" The girl shouted, as her mom picked her up.
"Nala, she has to go. There is no other way." He said looking at his queen, his eyes filled with tears, "I didn't want to go this far, but it's for her safety and well being." He reached for Rainie.
"Xavier, please don't say what I think you are going to say." Nala pleaded, her tears soaking her face and Rainie's golden hair, running down her elegant gold dress. Her gold crown was twisted in her light brunette hair.
"Nala, we have to. Zack!" Xavier called, his voice cracked.
A tall, broad shouldered guard strolled in, bowing before standing to look at the king.
"Yes, your majesty?" He asked in a rough voice
King Xavier cleared the thickness out of his throat, "Zack please send for a Blackout."
