After a week at my new school, everything seemed normal, except for my relationship with the boys. Don't get me wrong, there was no one excluding me or no one excluded, for example; we just weren't close.
It was Monday again. I hate Mondays.
I followed the same routine as always: I had breakfast, went to the bathroom, changed my clothes, put on some makeup and left for school. Everything was normal.
When I got to school, I found Wes near the front door. He and Fred were the ones who seemed the most happy to see me, so to speak.
"Hey, Ella! How are you?" He said.
He wrapped his arms around me in one quick act. I felt butterflies in my stomach. "Why the hell am I feeling like this? I'm not even that close to him, what the fuck?" I was cursing myself in my thoughts.
"Hello, I'm great. How 'bout you?"
"I'm great. Let's get to class"
As we walked together, we talked about random things, like how annoying the math teacher was.
"Hey guys, how are you going?" Fred asked excited as we walked into the classroom.
"Hi!" I said, stepping out of Wes's arm and heading to my seat.
"We're great" Wes answered.
After the first class, it was Geography class. At the end of the class, the teacher assigned a group project to our class.
"You should join groups of an indeterminate number of people and you will have to do a task." She started. "The theme is Climate Change and its Global Impact. You will have to write a text together on the topic and present and hand in this text in the next class."
The boys and I looked at each other.
"Well, it looks like we'll have to meet outside of class to do this schoolwork." Lethal said.
"Yeah" I agreed.
"Well, where and when can we meet? I'm free the whole week." Fred asked.
"I don't know, maybe at someone's house?" Sam proposed.
"Sounds cool" Fred said, looking at the rest of us.
We all nodded.
"Yeah but, in whose house?" Fred asked.
"I don't know." Wes said.
"Well," I started. "My mother won't be home in the afternoon all week and my father doesn't mind if I bring someone home, so..."
"If so, it may be." Wes said.
"Now, when will we meet?" John asked.
"I'm free this afternoon only tomorrow this week." Sam said.
"For me it's all good for tomorrow." I said.
They all nodded. Yeah, they were going all to my house.

When I finally got home, I went to tell my dad about work while we ate dinner.
"Dad" I started.
"Yes, honey?"
"That group of boys I made friends with will come over to my house tomorrow. We need to do a geography assignment for next week, okay? Can they come?"
"Of course they can! It'll be cool to meet them." He answered.
"Thank you" I said, smiling.
"What are their names again?" He asked.
"Fred, Sam, Wes, John and Lethal." I said.
"Which one do you think is cute?" He said laughing.
"Dad!" I exclaimed. How did he knew?
"Seriously! I know there is one" He said, still laughing.
"Actually," I started, ashamed. I'm only going to tell him because I trust him. "Maybe Wes, you know? Let's not go into details." I said, I was probably blushing.
He just laughed.
