You've been a pro hero for almost 15 years now. You were a special one, known for their work and dedication. He retired from his job as a pro hero and teacher after the war and decided to focus on you, on your relationship... and of course his cat.
He's been so happier since he retired, too- slept well, ate well, even his mood was better overall. Shouta found a new passion few years ago, but never said anything about it since he was still a teacher back then and didn't even have time for it.
