I stared out the window. I couldn't concentrate today. To many things ran through my mind.

"Ari pay attention please." Mr. Telano barked. I snapped out of my thoughts "Yes sir." Art might be my best class but he makes it boring sometimes. The past two weeks we'd been studying the color wheel and what to use during certain drawings. I already knew this considering I was a somewhat professional drawler, which only made all the people in my art class hate me. Well except for my friend Dean he was well on the road to professional drawing too.

After a few minutes of Mr.Telano  talking about the differences between charcoal textures the bell finally rang.
Me, Dean, and some other guy  weren't required to go to the last 2 classes. Which made more people hate me, but I didn't really care. It aloud me to get home and see my family before they all left for night shift.

My mom worked in the hospital,  my dad was a trucker (he never really went far until summer time), my brother worked at a 24 hour gas station on a turnpike near our house. They all leave around 4:00

As I passed a pretty blue house I seen him... That boy Keagen... He was with one of the girls from the store my brother works at.. Her name was like Carrie or Carren something like that.. She used to flirt with my brother.

Of course a guy like him would go for a pretty girl like her.. She had the Perfect curly brunet hair and the deep brown eyes to go with it.. She knew just what to wear and just what to do with herself.. She was like a guys walking dream... Well except for my brother.. He rejected her on site.. Which I thought was funny, considering he said he wanted a girlfriend.

As I skated up to the porch I seen my family sitting outside eating. "Is there any left for me?" I placed my penny board by the stairs and took off my shoes at the front door. "Your plates in the microwave sweetheart." My mom keyed in. "Thank you ma."

I heard some mumbles of conversation I probably wasn't supposed to hear...

"Should we tell her?"

"Tell her about what?"

"That y'all are leaving remember? Your business trip and Casein's job offer."

"I don't wanna tell her she'd be devastated if Casein left. He's her big brother... Basically her twin if you ask me... I'll be back from my business trip in a week two weeks tops."

They're leaving... Why now...it's almost my junior graduation.... There gonna miss it...

"She deserves to know mom.. It'll only hurt her worse if we don't.. You know how she is."

I heard the chairs scoot out so I grabbed my plate of pasta and ran up stairs as quick as my athletic feet would take me. I sat down on my bed and stared at my bed sheets for a few minutes before finally getting hungry enough to eat. I couldn't be here right now I had to go somewhere.. I hurried to finish my pasta and changed into my running clothes. I grabbed my headphones and turned my music on.

As I headed through the kitchen I put my plate in the sink and jogged out the door. I wasn't very often that I did this but today I needed a reason to be away.. A reason to stall having to hear about them leaving. I kept my breaths even and headed up to the school track.. It was almost time for school to be out so I sat on the benches and waited.

I knew there was no Track or Cross Country practice so I had the track all to myself. The only People that were practicing today was Tennis and Basketball.. Maybe even Baseball but I highly doubt there practicing today.

I seen him from the corner of my eye.. His blonde hair falling over as his fingers ran through it.. He was cute, but defiantly out of my league.

Dean was sitting on the bench waiting for the rest of the basketball team which they'd probably run a lap or two or maybe do there workout thing. They wouldn't bother me though I'd just go run on the moved out soon to be second Cross Country track.

As I started to jog my first lap I heard the basketball boys behind me.. "Come on Ari is that the hardest you can run?" Dean yelled out from behind me. I sped my jog up just enough to keep the boys off my heels. I have to admit the guys on our basketball team are hella fast, especially during the games.

-Time Laps-

Id literally been running for hours.. Dean had been sitting on the bench waiting on me ever since practice was over which guessing from the time it's been about two hours.. Their practice took an hour so this stuck is at around 6:00 in the afternoon.. Just around time to take a shower and come watch the sunset.

I made my way to Deans position across the track.. As I made my way to him I noticed he was still in his sweaty gym clothes. "Why didn't you change?" He pushed his bag towards me. "I knew you didn't bring a change of clothes. Lucky you I brought my basketball sweats that actually stay on you." I grabbed his bag and ran inside the gym. I had to hurry or I was gonna miss the sun..

I unlocked my locker and grabbed my body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. In our school we could take showers before going back to class. I stripped down to nothing and quickly took a shower.. I slipped on his extra pair of brand new boxers and his sweats.. I quickly dried my hair off with my towel and got the rest of the way dressed..

I grabbed his gym bag threw it over my shoulders and ran outside. Just in time to see the pretty pastel colors start to stretch across the sky. As I got to the bleachers I hurried to the top. Dean took his bag and tossed it to the side.. "Wanna use my shoulders so you can get on top of the announcement booth?" I climbed on his shoulders and made my way on top of the booth.. Dean slowly but surly made his way up to the top. The distant thoughts started to flood my mind again.. Dean took out his camera and handed it to me.. "Take a few photos for art class maybe you could paint them for the project." I took a couple of pictures and handed his camera back to him. He gave me a concerned look. "I'm fine. I'm just tired." He threw his arm over my shoulder and pulled me back towards him. "Are you to tired to take a picture with me?" I shook my head. I smiled and made a peace sign while he just peeked over my shoulder and smiled.

For some reason he liked taking pictures with/of me. After a few moments of sitting in silence I began to let my emotions seep through me. A silent tear rolled down my face, but before I could wipe it away Dean did it for me. "Are you gonna tell me what's going on or am I just gonna have to pry it out of you?" I sniffled and hugged him tight. "My mom is leaving for a business trip and Casein got a job offer I'm guessing a ways away." He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in close. "I'm so sorry Ari. I know how close you are to your family."

This beautiful feather like sunset was being completely ruined by my broken heart
