BY the next morning, Y/N was thoroughly unamused by her Slytherin friends and found it hard to keep a smile on her face. It was ridiculous to get so upset over this— if push came to shove, she knew without hesitation choose to remain on 'Harry's side', given his status as the 'savior of magical Britain'— or 'savior of the wizarding world', as she learned he was called in Britain. She found it all rather conceited since Voldemort had never been a threat to countries outside of Britain, but hadn't commented on it when she found out.
But, she digresses, Harry had far more influence than a group of three random pureblood children and so Y/N would obviously keep him as an ally— or 'friend,' as he considered her. Still, she didn't want to give up on having the other three on her side so quickly. It had only been a day, after all, surely they'd get better.
"The dementors are coming, Potter! Wooooooo!" Pansy grinned wickedly, hunching forward with her hands outstretched and curled like claws. Draco fake swooned next to her, a dramatic motion that caused most of the nearby students to burst out laughing.
Harry, who had just entered the Great Hall, merely spared them a brief, annoyed glance before heading toward the Gryffindor table without a word, sitting down next to a tall redhead that seemed to be a couple years above him— one of the Weasley twins, Y/N assumed, or the one that got made prefect. The Weasley's had quite a lot of children, especially for a pureblood family, and Y/N found it troublesome to try and keep track of them— she knew they had one girl named Ginny, and Ron was friends with Harry Potter, those two were the only recognizable ones to her.
Anyway, back to the matter at hand.
"Rather hypocritical of you, is it not?" Y/N inquired rhetorically, stirring her tea idly with a spoon. Draco and Pansy gave her slightly confused looks at that, while Blaise snorted, quickly covering it up with a cough. It seemed Blaise also wasn't the biggest supporter of their childish behavior— though, being an inactive bystander is often not much better than being an instigator.
