As Harry and Rose shared a sweet kiss, completely lost in the warmth of each other’s presence, the world around them seemed to fade into nothingness. The dim light of the corridor bathed them in a golden glow, soft and intimate, as if the castle itself were granting them a private moment. For those precious few seconds, it felt as though time had paused, leaving them in their own little universe.

But the quiet was broken by the unmistakable sound of approaching footsteps. They echoed down the hallway, growing louder, each step pulling Harry and Rose further out of their bubble. Suddenly, a familiar voice sliced through the silence, dripping with amusement.

“Honestly, Potter, could you be any less discreet?”

Startled, they pulled apart, both turning in unison toward the source of the voice. There, leaning casually against the stone wall, was Draco Malfoy. His silver-blond hair gleamed even in the faint light, and his piercing gray eyes sparkled with a blend of mischief and mockery. He stood with his arms crossed, a smirk dancing on his lips, as if he’d just stumbled upon the most entertaining spectacle of his day.

Harry’s face flushed, a mix of embarrassment and irritation heating his skin, while Rose felt a burning warmth creep up her cheeks. They exchanged a glance—Harry’s with a twinge of annoyance, Rose’s tinged with disbelief.

“What do you want, Draco?” Harry asked, his voice tight, trying to mask the awkwardness he felt as he adjusted his glasses.

“Oh, nothing really,” Draco drawled, his voice smooth and laced with nonchalance, though his eyes betrayed his delight in their discomfort. “Just passing by and happened to catch a glimpse of you two lovebirds. Never pegged you for the public display type, Potter—kissing in the corridors like some lovesick Gryffindor romantic.”

Rose recovered first, her expression hardening as she narrowed her eyes at Draco. “And what’s it to you, Draco?” she shot back, her tone sharper than she intended. “Shouldn’t you be off somewhere with Astoria, doing something equally... productive?”

Draco chuckled, the sound low and amused, like he had been expecting the retort. “Astoria? Oh, I was on my way to grab a book for her, actually. But imagine my surprise when I came across the Chosen One having a little snog session in the middle of Hogwarts.” He stepped forward, lowering his voice as if sharing a secret. “Just make sure you keep the noise down, would you? I’d hate for half the castle to hear you two getting all cozy.”

Harry clenched his jaw, fighting to keep his cool. “Very funny, Malfoy,” he muttered, crossing his arms in front of his chest. “Are you going to stand there and gloat, or are you going to leave us alone?”

Draco raised his hands in mock surrender, still smirking. “Alright, alright, I’ll leave you two lovebirds to it. But don’t say I didn’t warn you—give Weasley and Granger something to gossip about, and you’ll never hear the end of it. Trust me.”

With a final wink, Draco turned on his heel, sauntering down the corridor with the same arrogant swagger he’d perfected over the years. His footsteps echoed in the empty hallway, growing softer until they disappeared completely.

Harry let out a long breath, his tension fading as soon as Draco was out of earshot. “Great,” he muttered under his breath, shaking his head. “Now we’ve got Malfoy on our backs on top of everything else.”

Rose, who had been holding in her laughter, couldn’t contain it any longer. A light giggle escaped her, and soon she was laughing, the sound bright and contagious. Harry looked over at her, half-annoyed, half-amused, and soon enough, he found himself smiling too.

“Oh, come on,” Rose teased between breaths, her eyes twinkling. “It wasn’t that bad. Besides, we’ve dealt with worse, haven’t we?”

Harry chuckled, his irritation melting away. “Yeah, I suppose we have,” he admitted, reaching for her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. “I just wasn’t expecting him to be the one interrupting us.”

“Well,” Rose said, leaning in closer, her voice softening as her smile grew, “at least we’ll give Hermione and Ron something to talk about. They’re going to have a field day.”

Harry grinned, his earlier embarrassment forgotten as he pulled her closer, their laughter echoing gently down the hall. For a moment, it didn’t matter who else knew, or what teasing lay ahead—because as long as they had each other, they knew they could face it all.

And with one final glance down the empty corridor, they sealed the promise with another kiss, the world fading into soft, golden light once more.
