Namjoon leaned back in his chair, the name "RM" fresh on his lips, a symbol of the journey he was about to embark on. But he knew that this wasn't a solo venture. If this group was going to work, they needed more talent---people with passion and skill as intense as his. He didn't know it yet, but someone else, with a different story and a similar fire, was about to join him.

Hundreds of miles away, in the bustling streets of Daegu, a young producer sat hunched over his keyboard, his headphones drowning out the noise of the world. His name was Min Yoongi, but in the underground scene, he was known as Gloss. Music flowed through his veins and he lived for the beats, rhythms and melodies that filled his small studio.
Yoongi wasn't just a producer. He was a lyricist, a rapper and an artist who knew the power of words. But his journey was never easy. Coming from a modest family, Yoongi had to hustle hard in the underground scene, where recognition wasn't easy to come by. Yet, his unique style and raw talent began to make waves. He was becoming known for his brutally honest lyrics, addressing struggles, dreams and the harsh realities of life.
"I don't do this for fame," he often muttered under his breath, as his fingers danced across the piano keys. "I do this because music is the only way I know how to survive."

One day, as Yoongi finished up a late-night recording session, his phone buzzed with a notification that would change his life.
"BigHit Entertainment... audition?" he read aloud, his brow furrowed in curiosity. "They're looking for talent to form a group."
Yoongi sat back, staring at the message. He had heard whispers about BigHit, a company with big ambitions and a desire to create something new in the music industry. But a group? He was a solo artist, a producer. The idea of being in a group was foreign to him.
Still, something inside him stirred. Maybe this could be an opportunity to expand his horizons. Maybe he could show the world more than just his production skills. His mind raced.
"I'll give it a shot," he whispered, more to himself than anyone else. "What do I have to lose?"
...................................................................................................
Yoongi arrived at the BigHit audition with his usual calm demeanor, but underneath, he was nervous. The thought of being evaluated not just as a producer but as a performer unsettled him. As he stepped up to the microphone, he introduced himself confidently.
"I'm Min Yoongi, also known as Gloss," he began. "I've been producing music for a while, but today I'm here to show you who I am as an artist."
The room grew quite as Yoongi delivered his performance---an intricate mix of rapping and beats he had produced himself. His words were sharp and his delivery was effortless. He rapped about his journey, his struggles in Daegu and the challenges he faced in making a name for himself in the underground scene.
As the final beat dropped, the room remained silent for a few seconds before the panel burst into applause.
The head judge nodded in approval. "You've got something special, Yoongi. But let me ask you---are you willing to be part of a group? You've got the solo act down, but we're forming something bigger here."
Yoongi hesitated for a moment. He had always worked alone, but something about the idea intrigued him. He wasn't just being asked to join a company; he was being invited to create something new, something that could change the landscape of music.
"I'm open to it," Yoongi replied after a pause. "If the music's good, I'm in."
The judges exchanged satisfied looks. "We'll be in touch. Welcome to BigHit."
...................................................................................................
Weeks passed and Yoongi received the call that confirmed his place in the group. The first meeting with the team was awkward but exciting. Namjoon was there, already established as RM, the leader of the group.
"Hey, I'm Namjoon, but you can call me RM," he introduced himself with a slight grin. "Looks like we're going to make some history together."
Yoongi nodded. "I'm Yoongi. Nice to meet you." He paused for a second, eyeing Namjoon carefully before asking, "So, how do you feel about this group thing? I'm still wrapping my head around it."
Namjoon laughed lightly. "I think it's gonna be huge. You'll see. I heard your work as Gloss. You've got skills, man. I'm glad you're with us."
The group dynamic began to take shape, but something was missing for Yoongi. A name that fit the new chapter of his life.
One evening, as they sat together discussing the group's future, the subject of stage names came up. RM had chosen his and now it was Yoongi's turn.
"I've been thinking," Yoongi began. "How about SUGA?"
The others turned to him, curious. RM raised an eyebrow. "SUGA?"
"Yeah," Yoongi continued, "it's a play on my position in basketball---Shooting Guard---and also because I'm told my personality is a bit sweet." He smirked, clearly amused by the irony of it.
RM nodded thoughtfully. "SUGA... I like it. It's got a good vide, like there's more to it than meets the eye."
And just like that, SUGA was born.
...................................................................................................
As SUGA adjusted to his new identity, he knew that this was the beginning of something far greater than anything he had experienced before. He wasn't just a producer or an underground rapper anymore. He was part of a group that had the potential to shake up the industry.
With RM by his side, SUGA felt more confidant about the journey ahead. Together, they were setting the foundation for their group---though neither of them knew it yet, the world was about to meet a force like no other.
And so, with a new name, a new role and a new dream, SUGA stepped forward, ready to face whatever challenges awaited him on this path to stardom.
