_____________"MOMMM DADDDD"
Sharon woke up suddenly, breathing fast, her heart racing as the nightmare stayed with her. She was three years old again, lost in that terrifying memory of the fire.
The big mansion, once filled with music and laughter, was now caught in flames. Shadows flickered wildly on the walls, mixing with the screams of people trying to escape. Heat pressed down on her small body as she tried to find her parents, hoping they could save her. But all she could see was fire and scared faces and then, through the flames, her parents, trapped and helpless.
"Hey, sweetie, did you have that nightmare again?"
Sharon looked up, her eyes still damp. "Yeah, Mum... it was really horrible," she whispered, hugging her tightly and letting her tears fall onto her mother's shoulder.
Her mother gently stroked her back. "Don't cry, dear. You're safe now, and I'm here with you."
Sharon wiped her tears and managed a small smile.
"Now, come on, girl! You'll be late for university," her mother said, playfully nudging her.
"Yeah, Mum," Sharon replied, getting out of bed and heading for a cold shower to wake herself up.
After getting dressed, she came back to the kitchen. "Hey, Mom, I'm going. See you later!" She hugged her mother goodbye.
"Wait-have some breakfast before you go."
"Alright," Sharon sighed, grabbing a quick breakfast before heading out the door.
As she left, Sharon felt a wave of gratitude. Her adoptive parents in Bombay had given her a safe home and a loving family, far from the nightmare of her past.
Besides her university classes, Sharon had a strong passion for martial arts. She was progressing well in her training and felt at ease during her lessons. At university, she wasn't very talkative, so she didn't have close friends. Instead, she found comfort in honing her fighting skills, which gave her a sense of strength and peace.

Sharon sat at the kitchen table, her hands nervously fidgeting with the letter in front of her. Her adoptive parents entered the room, sensing her anxiety.
"Hey, sweetie, you look a little tense. What's going on?" her mother asked, taking a seat beside her.
"I got some big news," Sharon began, her voice wavering slightly. "I received a scholarship to train at a martial arts academy in Brazil. And... I also got a job offer there."
Her father raised his eyebrows, surprised. "Wow, that's amazing! Brazil? That sounds like an incredible opportunity!"
Sharon took a deep breath, trying to steady her emotions. "It is. But... it also means a lot to me personally. I've been thinking about my past and where I come from. This could be a chance to not only train and work but also to explore my roots."
Her mother looked thoughtful. "You've always had a connection to your heritage, Sharon. Are you sure you want to go so far away?"
"I know it's a big step," Sharon replied, her eyes shining with determination. "But this is my last year at university, and I feel like I need to embrace new experiences. I want to grow, both in my career and as a person. And if I can discover more about my background while I'm there, that would mean everything to me."
Her father nodded, understanding her resolve. "We believe in you, Sharon. If this is what you want, we'll support you. Just promise us that you'll stay safe and keep in touch."
Tears filled Sharon's eyes, a mix of gratitude and excitement. "Thank you, both of you. It means so much to have your support. I promise I'll stay safe."
Her mother hugged her tightly. "We're so proud of you, and we know you'll do great things in Brazil."

As Sharon sat on her bed, the weight of her thoughts felt heavy in the quiet room. She stared out the window, watching the sun set in the distance, casting a warm glow across her cluttered desk.
"Do I really need to find my past?" she murmured to herself, her voice barely above a whisper. "Or should I just let it go?"
She picked up the letter from the martial arts academy, her fingers tracing the bold letters of her scholarship. "What does it mean that I got this job in Brazil? Is it a sign? Does God want me to find out more about where I come from?"
Sharon sighed, running her hands through her hair in frustration. She thought back to the party-the laughter, the music, and then the flames. "That party belonged to a family that moved to Brazil. I even checked the reports-over fifty people attended, and many didn't make it out.
Sharon's heart sank as she thought about the people who survived the fire. They all went back to Brazil, returning to their lives while she remained here, an orphan left to grapple with the aftermath. "I'm sure my parents died that night," she whispered to herself, tears welling in her eyes. "If they had survived, they would have taken me with them. I was just a child, alone in a world that felt so cruel and unforgiving."
She paused, taking a deep breath to calm the whirlwind of emotions. "But what if I uncover something that changes everything? What if I find out I'm not who I thought I was?"
Looking around her room, filled with memories and reminders of her life, she continued, "Maybe this is my chance to confront the shadows of my past. To face the unknown and see what I can find."
With determination building inside her, she whispered, "I can't keep running from it. I need to take this opportunity, not just for my career, but for my heart. It's time to find out who I really am and what happened that night."
After her emotional reflection, Sharon made her way to the kitchen, where the comforting smell of her mother's cooking filled the air.
"Dinner's ready!" her mother called, smiling as they gathered around the table. Though her heart was heavy with thoughts of her past, she joined in the conversation, grateful for their warmth and support.
Once dinner was over, Sharon helped clear the table before retreating to her room. She changed into her pajamas and slipped into bed, pulling the covers tightly around her.
As darkness enveloped her, she stared at the ceiling, thoughts swirling like the flames from that night. "Brazil," she whispered, "I'll figure it out." With that resolve, her eyes grew heavy, and she drifted off to sleep, hoping for a peaceful night.
