The moon hung high over Fontaine, casting a silver glow over the cascading waterfalls that concealed the ancient temple of the Hydro Yaksha. The roar of rushing water filled the night. The Millelith guards patrolled the grounds, their senses sharpened by recent events, but Y/N had been watching them for hours, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Draped in her dark cloak, she moved like a shadow among the rocks, her eyes fixed on the temple entrance. It was time. With a flick of her wrist, flames ignited in her palm, illuminating her face for a brief moment. Hatred blazed in her eyes, fueled by years of loss, anger, and bitterness. She was here for the Hydro Yaksha’s artifact, and nothing would stand in her way.

She leaped from her hiding spot, a whirlwind of fire and wind swirling around her. The Millelith barely had time to react before they were engulfed in flames, their cries of alarm quickly drowned out by the crackling of fire and the roaring of the waterfall. Y/N moved with ruthless precision, her powers honed by years of planning and practice. One by one, the guards fell before her, defeated by the sheer force of her kin's abilities.

Her hand gripped the cold silver of the artifact after swiftly grabbing it from it's shrine before any traps could activate, her heart pounding in her chest as she savored the moment of victory. The Hydro Yaksha’s power was hers now.

But before she could flee, a gust of wind whipped through the temple, unsettling the flames around her. Y/N’s eyes snapped up to see Xiao and Aether standing at the entrance, their expressions hard and determined. Aether’s sword gleamed in the moonlight, while Xiao’s polearm seemed to hum with barely contained power.

“You’re not going anywhere,” Xiao said, his voice low and threatening. His golden eyes locked onto her, filled with a mix of strength and determination. Y/N’s heart skipped a beat, just for a moment, before her resolve hardened once more.

Without hesitation, Y/N launched herself at them with a cry, flames spiraling from her hands. Aether leaped forward to intercept her, but Y/N quickly spun away, summoning a gust of wind that sent him stumbling backward. Her focus shifted to Xiao, her true target. He was the one she needed to get past.

His mask appearing before his face, Xiao lunged at her, his movements swift and precise. His spear met her flames, the clash of anemo and pyro sparking in the night air. They danced around each other in a deadly game of speed and strength, each strike more powerful than the last. Y/N fought with a ferocity that surprised even Xiao, her hatred burning brighter with every blow she dealt.

She managed to dodge his attacks with impressive agility, luring him deeper into the temple. The further they went, the narrower the passage became. Y/N grinned beneath her hood, feeling the stone walls closing in around them. Just as she had planned, a rumble shook the ground beneath them, and with a deafening crash, the temple walls collapsed behind her, sealing off the path.

Aether, now trapped on the other side, shouted in frustration, his voice muffled by the thick stone.

Y/N turned to face Xiao, the two of them now isolated in a narrow corridor with only the faint light of the moon seeping in through the cracks in the ceiling. Xiao's narrowed eyes were revealed as his mask dissipated, his spear at the ready.

“You can't escape me." he growled.

Y/N met his gaze, her expression cold and unwavering. “I don’t care about escaping,” she hissed, flames flickering in her hands once more. “I care about vengeance.”
