Honeydukes, shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable..
Her brain went completely blank as she breathed in the delicious sent of chocolate and berries, the cacao mixed with milk melted on her tongue gracefully.
As she woke up from the tasty dream, she let out a small whine as she recalled the memory of the now so distant candy shop in Hogsmade.. where she is not allowed to go until summer or the third year, when she can freely run around hogsmade in the weekends..
She stretched before looking over the wall, her owl staring at her soul with a letter in it's beak.
She slowly got up from her bed and patted the little guy.
«You made me wait.» The owl spoke with it's deep voice.
She pretended to be surprised, a talking owl is not common even for wizards.
«As you probably saw, I was asleep.» She took the letter from it's mouth, her heart dropping once she saw the name on it.
«Leonardo Ellwood..» She read out loud- making Evelin raise her head.
«Leonardo Ellwood??» Evelin asked- standing on her feet and walking towards her, almost as if she wanted to snatch the letter and read it herself.
Evelin Erickson, one of the few friends Aurora kept a healthy relationship with ever since they met in elementary school, the same girl who had a massive crush on Leonardo, Aurora's friend ever since forever.
Aurora opened the letter and cleared her throat.
«Dear Aurora, I'm writing this letter to let you know I'm planning on moving back to London next year, which if i'm not mistaken, would be your second year there at Hogwarts.»
She raised her gaze to meet Evelin's shocked-excited expression before continuing.
«I hope you won't be too sad to know i'll attend your school, which means you'll have to see me every day like we used to before I moved to Italy. Always your, Leonardo!» She raised her voice and Evelin covered her mouth like she was about to bust- causing some annoyed looks from their roommates. The great hall is filled with chatter and delicious smelling food, it seems so full but magically has a seat for every single student..
«I can't believe i'll see him again after all this time.. do you think he even remembers who I am?» Evelin asked, before taking a sip of her chai.
«I doubt that, actually. He barely remembers anyone from middle school, I don't think he remembers his elementary school classmate..»
Aurora replied teasingly, toying with her green neck tie.
«You're cruel! if he remembers you he surely remembers me too! I used to be your shadow!»
«He might remember that time you stole his chocolate frogs as a way to.. gain his attention, I assume..?»
Evelin's cheeks grew rosy- the dark memory causing her to cringe.
«Stop that! you were little too!»
Aurora hid her smile by biting on her ham sandwich, the conversation continuing to flow until she felt a pair of eyes burn through her skull.. she struggled to understand whether it came from the Gryffindor's or her own table, since now she seems to have two enemies...
«Have you ever been to Leonardo's house? I mean you are friends enough to receive a letter from him only to tell you he's going to be here next year.» She asked.
Aurora's eyes shifted to the girl in front of her again.
«A few times, yeah. He has like 10 bathrooms and 100 rooms.
But I wouldn't say we are friends friends, we kind of stopped talking after middle school.»
«But you were in middle school a few months ago.» The blondie retorted.
«As in 'we talk less', genius. It's strange to go from seeing him almost every day to not even seeing him in the city because he moved to Italy.»
There was a small silence between them as they continued to eat, until Evelin continued to speak with her mouth half full. «By the way, have you seen Draco?»
Aurora raised her eyes from her plate. «Why do you ask?»
«Well, apparently nobody saw him yet, which is weird because he's always by your side..and You're basically everywhere.»
Aurora's eyes narrowed just slightly, «First of all that's now true- and the day just started, I'm sure you'll see him at some point.»Aurora walked around the castle, trying to figure out where the classroom she's looking for is.
Avoiding all the weird looking ghosts that tried to approach her, her mind drifted to Draco, the one she still haven't seen yet- not in the Slytherin's common room, not in the great hall, and maybe she will also have the privilege of not seeing him in class.
There was something in her gut that told her to look for him, that maybe something happen to him, but she was quick to push back the negative thoughts once she found the potion classroom, realizing she once again came late when all the eyes turned to look at her, as well as professor's Snape stern look.
«Late again.» He commented flatly.
«Forgive me, sir.» She said, looking for an empty chair- the only being next to Ron.
She stood there for a moment before sitting beside him.
Ron didn't raise his eyes from his book.
"..hey." she tried.
«Murrina, was interrupting my lesson with your late entry not enough?»
«I apologize.»
This was horrific. Both Ron and Draco mad at her for basically the same reason.
The guy she usually sits with is nowhere to be seen and the one who avoids her like the plague is sitting next to her with his head in the book.
She let out a defeated sigh and decided to follow the lesson for once, picking up her ink pen and writing down the necessary.
Ron immediately stood up once the lesson ended- and she instinctively called out for him.
«Wait a second- can we talk?» She stood up too, facing him.
Ron looked surprised by being addressed from her.
«..yeah.» He replied, avoiding eye contact.
«...uh. Just.. I have the feeling you're avoiding me lately.»
«That's.. Thats because I am avoiding you.» He replied- this time gathering up the courage to meet her eyes.
«and why is that?»
«Don't .. play dumb.» He frowned a bit, only to continue when she didn't say anything else.
He took a deep breath and let it all out.
«It's just- ever since you started to see that Malfoy you seem so different all of the sudden!»
Professor Snape hit his hand on the desk to get the only two remaining students' attention.
«My classroom is not.. a cafeteria, Weasley.
If You're going to shout then do so out of my class.»They sat on a bench, the weak October's sun gently caresses their faces with it's rays.
They remained in silence until she broke the ice, once again.
«I never meant to make you feel overshadowed, if.. that's how I made you feel.
Is it the fact that i'm making new friend or-»
«No!» He snapped, standing up.
«It's the fact that you became friend with someone like- like him! He talks badly about me- my family!- and you never say or do anything about it! It's almost like you're becoming like him!»
«I'm not- responsabile for his behavior!»
She replied standing up as well, defense in her tone- looking for any excuse to claim she's not as bad as the guy she stays around, who degrades and humiliates anyone who belongs to a lower class.
«But You're his friend aren't you?»
Ron's rhetoric question made her speechless- not as if he gave her the time to think of a possible answer.
«I'm glad I figured it out, Aurora.
Now I can finally say- that I don't need someone like you as a friend.» He said before storming off, leaving her alone, speechless once again.
