1 year after the Yusho Sakaki's disappearance, Yuya is running away from  his bully.

Normally This would not be the case because of his best friend Gong but unfortunately he got sick today because of that there's no one to protect yuya from his bully.

Yuya seeing a alley quickly take a turn
Seeing this bully also take a turn to the alley and kept running passing a trash can after seeing that he had lost the bully comes out the trash can and then take a sigh of relief.

Yuya:"Thank god I was able to lost him."

after saying that yuya became sad because he knew it was Temperaley he was sad that people were making fun of him and his dad who gone missing  saying that he was a coward that ran away from the duel but he still keep insisting that his father was not coward but people still kept making fun of him and his father thinking about it yuya started crying.

At the same time unknown to Yuya that above him a portal has opened up and from it came out a card that dropped infront yuya then the portal closed.

Yuya who was still crying didn't noticed the card until he heard a unknown.

????:"where am I ?"

Yuya after hearing the voice Yuya quickly stopped crying and quickly wash away his tears and then he started to looking around for the person who's voice it belongs to but there's no one expect a card.

Yuya:"that's weird there's no one around but I thought I heard a voice. Am I hallucinating."

Yuya said after seeing no one around but then he heard the voice again and it came from the card infront of him.

????:"aren't I suppose to be dead then how am I still alive." The voice sounded like it was confused.

Hearing that the voice came from the card Yuya was in disbelief but he quickly composed himself and picked up the card when he saw the card it was a monster card named ulquiorra the cuatro espada then he heard the voice.

Ulquiorra:"who are you human?"

Hearing the voice Yuya was shocked that the card can talk but quickly composed himself answered "I am Yuya sakaki"

Ulquiorra:"so your name is yuya. Then yuya tell me where I am and how could you pick me up in your hand?"

Hearing the question yuya was confused and thought 'what does he mean by how can I pick him up doesn't he know he is a card' but nevertheless answered

Yuya:"you are in a alley in the Masami city and why could I pick you doesn't you know you are a duel monster."

Hearing yuya's answer ulquiorra was shocked inside but didn't show it and thought

'where is this Maiami city and what does he meant by I am a card and what is duel monster I never heard but it sounds like children card game also I can't feel any spiritual energy in the atmosphere but I don't feel hungry then that only means I am in a different world but I don't know about this world and my only source of information for now is likely is this kid named Yuya, I should probably ask what year is it.'

Ulquiorra:"tell me yuya what year is it."

Yuya:"well the year is 2169."

Hearing the answer ulquiorra was not shocked because he expected that the world had a different time period so he asked the next question what is duel monsters.

At first yuya was surprised that ulquiorra doesn't know what duel monster is despite being a duel monster card himself but he still answered.

Hearing the ulquiorra was a little surprised that children card could be so popular but didn't think about it too much although he thought solid vision technology was useful for training soldiers but didn't put too much thought in to it then said to Yuya "considering I don't have place to stay and I can't move as a card and your the only person at the moment it looks like I have to part of your deck."

Hearing what ulquiorra said Yuya was surprised then excited "okay Ulquiorra with you in my deck, you can help me make people smile"

Hearing what yuya said ulquiorra quickly said with disdain "smiles? Then your very naive yuya."

Yuya:"what do you mean ulquiorra?"

Ulquiorra:"what I meant is that emotions are nothing but meaningless and only thing they do is make you weak."

Hearing what ulquiorra said about emotions   
Yuya quickly refused saying "you are wrong, Emotions doesn't make us weak ulquiorra they make us strong and I am gonna prove to you in the future"

Ulquiorra thought that yuya was still naive but he was intrigued by his determination
Then he said "okay let's see would you prove me right or wrong in future yuya"

Yuya then respond to ulquiorra by saying "okey then you just wait I will prove you wrong ulquiorra"

Ulquiorra:"Okey then but don't use me without my permission okay?"

Yuya:"okay"

From here on now start a very interesting pathe let's what future holds for these two
