Chapter 4: At The Edge

Third Person's Pov

As soon as Wan heard Pleng's mumble, she can't help but feel.. pissed. She felt this irritable feeling and in no way she's letting this slide.

"Ms. Wan! Let me help you." One of the employee offered a help but Wan just shot him a glare. As of the moment, she can't really trust anyone. Pleng was drugged inside a restaurant she owns.

"Review the cctv and find the guy with a red suit who has an interaction with Pleng and have him in the reception area." Wan commanded and assist Pleng towards the sleeping lounge.

"Don't come inside the sleeping lounge, or I'll fire whoever does." Wan threatened and walk their way towards the lounge.

Wan put Pleng to the bed as she stare at the girl in utter worry, she felt disappointed. Before, she doesn't really care about anything but I guess- fate really does do funny things sometimes for doing this to Wan.

After a few minutes, Wan went outside to settle the score. It looks like the security has manage to pinpoint whoever did it. Luckily, Pleng manage to tell her any clue on who did it.

"Ms. Wan, he's the guy." One of the security said as he point at the guy with a red suit, a dashing look- he thinks so but such a common face.

"I'll just pay whatever damage it may cause, that should settle it, right?" He suggested, not even feeling guilty about what he had done.

Wan click her tongue and went straight to the head of the security.

"Why did it come to this? How did he manage to slip past the security?" Wan asked, not even bothering to acknowledge the presence of the pervert.

"I'm so sorry, Ms. Wan. I assure you that this won't happen again, please give me another chance to train the team more." The security beg since he knew what kind of person Wan is.

She just won't hesitate.

"I'm starting to question why did I even hire you. Well, I'm partly responsible for this because I chose to hire you and your irresponsible team." Wan said. That hurt the security hearing that.

The regret Wan felt because of their performance.

"And you.." Wan start off as she gave her full attention to the guy who's smirking, trying to flirt with her.

"Wipe that smug look off your face. I'm not letting you off that easy." Wan commented with her eyes staring coldly at him. The guy smile with an impressed look.

"What are you gonna do, lady? I said I'll pay to compensate." He insist and was about to come closer but the security went ahead and stop him.

"You? Compensate me?" Wan asked him as if what he said is a joke, "What would you give to satisfy me?" She continued, challenging him.

"What can a low class narcissistic bastard give to Ms. Wanwiwa?" One of the security butt in as he tries to take the guy out of his fantasy world where he think he's the greatest out of the circle.

The mention of the name causes the guy to turn pale as a cold sweat is forming on his head.

"Seeing the reaction of your face, I bet you'd start begging on your knees for reconsideration but my mind is set. Submit the evidences to the court, my lawyer will be there." Wan said and walk off.

Wan has a huge trust of her lawyer, Rebecca Patricia Armstrong. Aside from being beautiful, she never loses a case. You can trust her on anything and she'll handle that immediately.

Wan went back to the sleeping lounge, stress and tired. Upon seeing Pleng's sleeping figure, she can't help but smile.

Pleng's Pov

I woke up in an instant and look around in panic.

Where am I?!

"Calm down, you're at the sleeping lounge. No one's going to come inside." A figure standing near the door voice out.

"Oh goodness, I overbreak! Why didn't you wake me up?!" I said as I hurriedly prepare myself. I can see Wan raise her brows then furrow it afterwards.

"And? What about it?" Wan asked and I immediately facepalm myself.

Oh right, she's the boss.

"Oh.. yeah. Um- what now?" I asked and look around the place because I have no idea what I should do. I mean- it's still working hours.

"Rest and stop being stubborn." Wan commented and walk towards me.

"Wow, I'm stubborn?" I asked, confused.

Hello?! She's the stubborn one!

"Yes, now sleep." She said, annoyed.

I stare at her and I realize that she looks stressed and drained and now I felt bad of how I acted.

"Are you okay?" I asked, she just nodded and lay down next to me.

"Yup, just tired talking with a narcissistic guy. How about lay down and cuddle with me?" She asked while smiling. As if her suggestion is a good deal.

No way- I'm scared of her.

And the feeling I'm trying to shake off.

But then again- the feeling of guilt seeing her tired face. I just know by feeling that she did something with that guy, she mentioned talking with a narcissistic guy so that must be it.

"You go ahead and sleep, you look tired." I commented and put the blanket on top of her, she just gave me a cheeky smile and nodded.

"Yes I will, but you have to cuddle me first." She insisted and before I could say anything, she grab my arms and lay me down next to her. She hugs me tight and I know that whatever methods I'll try to do won't get me out of here.

Might as well save some energy and let it be.

In that way, I'd understand my feelings better.

Really, this really push me to the edge. She does and she can.
