Being stuck in Stars Hollow was one of Iris' problems, but not her biggest. To her, her biggest problem was being broke, and now unable to afford her habits. At her old school, which she found weird calling her 'old school', had offered jobs to the students as assistants, or one of the many establishments on campus as usually hiring. But here in Stars Hollow finding a job was a bit difficult unless you have connections. Which, luckily Iris did.

A couple days after arriving in town, she realised she needed to find a job, so what better option did she have besides getting her old job back. She confidently walked into Luke's, her resume in her hands. Entering the diner the bell rang, announcing her entrance.

Luke looked up at her and noticed her uneasy smile, "What'd you do know?" he asked, taking an order before going back behind the counter.

Iris took a deep breath before walking up to the counter. She knew she had a good chance of getting her job back, but was still somewhat nervous, "Alright, so you know how a few years I used to work here at like 14 or 15, which I think was slightly illegal, but that's besides the point. Anyway, so at my old school, which it's really weird calling it that, which once again is getting off track. But, I used to have a job there, but now I don't. Obviously, because I'm basically like 3 states over, or maybe 2, I don't know I'm not good at geography, I actually almost failed that class. Back on topic, so I need to fund my book habit, and be able to buy all my art supplies, and stuff for my guitar which is really expensive, like I blow one amp, and now I have to buy all my own stuff, cause Lorelai doesn't want to keep buying me new ones, but it was only one time, and I'm never gonna use it again, but still like-" she rambled for a few minutes, before Luke looked like he was about to ram his head into a wall.

"Why don't we save us both the brain aneurysm, and I just give you your job back, like you want," he said, grateful that she wanted her job back, since even though he had Jess, it felt like work had gotten even worse, and they needed more people.

Iris perked up immediately, "Really, just like that?" she questioned, since she didn't think she'd get her job back that easily.

Luke shrugged, "Well you were helpful back then, so why not?" he said, before leaning down a bit to whisper, "Plus, Jess had made the job ten times more annoying, so extra help would be appreciated."

She smiled, finding his complaint about Jess funny, "Let me guess his sunshine personality makes the diner just get flooded with customers," she joked, being a bit dramatic about it.

"If that means fighting Kirk, then sure," he quipped, remembering the time Kirk kept taking sugar packets, annoying Jess, "If you want you can start working now, all your stuff is still in the back."

She nodded, walking around the counter to the back, "Personally if Kirk keeps taking sugar packets, then I'm this close to fighting him too," she said, walking out of the back, tying her apron.

Before Luke could respond, Jess walked out from upstairs, and noticed the girl behind the counter, "What did Luke really need more free child labour that badly?" he quipped, taking in Iris with her apron handing someone a donut.

"Actually I get paid, so it's not child labour," she corrected, pointing her pen at him, "Anymore," she said under her breath, referencing how she worked at the diner at a young age.

Luke caught what she said, "Hey, I paid you," he said, offended at her comment.

Iris just shrugged, clicking her tongue, "Whatever you say," she said, going to take someone's order.

Jess walked behind the counter, starting his shift for the day, "So I guess I'm stuck working with Ziggy Stardust now instead of just your cheerful self," Jess said, mentioning the name he first called Iris when they met.
