In the days that followed, Thomas noticed changes in Clara. She became distant and withdrawn; her laughter faded like echoes in an empty hall. She spent hours locked away in their bedroom, scribbling notes and drawings that made little sense.

One night, he found her surrounded by candles again, this time with symbols drawn around her on the floor—symbols he recognized from his research on dark magic and rituals.

“Clara! What are you doing?” he exclaimed.

“I’m trying to bring Eliza back,” she replied with a fervor that chilled him to the bone.

“Why would you want to do that? She was betrayed! This isn’t right!”

“She needs our help! We can’t leave her trapped!” Clara insisted.

Desperation clawed at Thomas as he tried to reason with her. “This isn’t going to end well! You’re playing with forces you don’t understand!”

But Clara was resolute. She believed that if she could connect with Eliza deeply enough, they could rewrite history—save her from her tragic fate and free her spirit from torment.

Days turned into nights filled with frantic rituals and desperate prayers. Each time Clara attempted to summon Eliza’s spirit, something darker seemed to seep into their lives—a growing sense of dread that hung over their home like a storm cloud.

Thomas could feel it too; shadows flitted at the edge of his vision, whispers taunted him in silence. He knew they were not alone anymore.
