Many years ago, there existed six ancient and powerful warriors known as the Kaishi Knights. These six dedicated their entire lives to fighting for and protecting the land from the evil forces of the Minotaur. These evil and power hungry monsters were led by the all-powerful Gaius, and his goals was to destroy the entirety of the ancient world and drain all the life from the planet.
As a result, Emperor Gaius launched a deadly attack on the knights and this eventually sparked a full-blown war. Unfortunately, the knights were losing badly against the Minotaur. So, one of them decided that there had to be a solution. He ran into the Anem Temple and came across the cursed black and gold horned mask of Xiao and put it on. He emerged out of the temple and knew that this was the power that they needed to stop Gaius once and for all.
With its dark power, the knights were able to destroy Gaius and bring an end to the war. However, the knight could not take off the mask and its dark power began to take over his body, and he was transformed into the demon king known as Xiao. His comrades could not believe their eyes and knew that the only way to stop him was to seal him away. They formed a circle around him and raised a seal by surrounding him with their Jyuso Ken. The energy from the swords was powerful enough to create a tomb around Xiao and seal his evil away. This was where Xiao remained for the next 300,000 years.
