my phone rang and I didn't recognize the number so I almost didn't answer but I changed my mind last second.
"Hello?"
"Hey." I pulled my eyebrows together as I sat up in bed.
"Hey..."
"I didn't know if you still had this number or not."
"Are you OK?" Was my first question.
"Yea, no, I'm ok..."
"Lou."
"No, I'm not."
"Where are you?" I asked.
"Home-"
"Donny?"
"Well, I'm in London right now."
"Me too." I said quietly.
"How fucked up would it be if I asked to meet up with you?"
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"You know what this is stupid."
"Hey no. Where do you want to meet?" I asked. "Lou."
"I'll text you an adress."
"Ok."
"Alright love." The call ended and I sighed getting out of bed and getting dressed, I pulled on black leggings and a oversized hoodie, I grabbed my Bennie and pulled it on not wanting to bother with my hair. I grabbed the apartment keys and my smokes leaving.
I put the address in Google and pulled my eyebrows together, it was a parking garage. I went anyways not even questioning it.
Once I got there, I looked around my phone buzzed. 'Up top.' I turned around looking up, and I saw him staring down at me. Once I reached the top, he started walking over me, and he engulfed me into a massive hug. I hugged him back tightly, and even though it had been forever, it still felt like home, I could never tell him that, though. He didn't let go for a while, and once he finally did, I saw tears in his eyes. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"Liam." He stopped.
"What?" I asked.
"Liam." He repeated, and my eyes widened.
"No." He nodded. "Louis."
"He died."
"Louis." I repeated. "Oh my god." I hugged him again tightly, and he hugged me back. "Are you OK?"
"I should have been talking to him more."
"What happened?" I asked as he was still hugging me.
"I don't know... he fell, I guess... or jumped..."
"Jesus Christ." I mumbled, and he pulled away.
"I'm sorry, I just needed to talk to someone."
"Lou, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."
"I should have... done something. I should have seen the signs." He said, letting go.
"Lou, there are so many people close to him in his life that should have seen it if there was something wrong. You can't blame yourself."
"It doesn't feel real." He mumbled.
"I can't believe it..." I said.
"Me either." He sighed. "Fuck." He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and put one between his lips. I did the same and he removed his. "Wut the fuck are you doing?" He asked.
"Having a cigarette?"
"Since when?" He asked.
"Since last year."
"You shouldn't be doing that."
"Do you want to be the pot or the kettle?" I asked.
"Fair enough." He put his cigarette back between his lips and lit it. We stayed quiet for a while and just smoked, I wanted to ask him so many questions but I didn't know how or what to even say really. It'd been so long since we spoke. "How have you been love?" He asked.
"We don't have to talk about me."
"Please, I want to be distracted."
"I've been good."
"How's your mum?"
"I don't know... haven't talked to her since I moved in with my girlfriend."
"Girlfriend." He said, and I nodded.
"Girlfriend."
"How long have you been together?"
"Eight months."
"She treat you alright?" He asked, and I smiled at him.
"She do." I nodded.
"Good, you deserve that." He said. "Listen Vi I-"
"Louis, you don't need to say anything."
"No, please let me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I put you through that, and I'm sorry for... well, the whole relationship."
"I wouldn't change it for the world, Lou, everything."
"But I didn't need to treat you that way -"
"Louis, stop. I love you, OK? We just... it didn't work, and it makes sense."
"I love you to Vi." He wrapped his arms around me again.
"Have you been... to any of the other boys?" I asked. He looked at me.
"I know what you're asking."
"You don't have to answer..."
