Samira's POV

It was a quiet morning, just like any other. Ahan and I sat across from each other at the breakfast table. I could feel the tension between us, unspoken but palpable ever since I had discovered the letter. I tried to push those thoughts away, telling myself to focus on the moment, on building something real with him.

He was scrolling through his phone while taking small bites of his toast, a focused look on his face. I stirred my tea absentmindedly, watching the steam swirl up and dissipate. Suddenly, Ahan cleared his throat, breaking the silence.

"I have to leave," he said, his voice abrupt.

I blinked, unsure if I had heard him correctly. "Leave? What do you mean?"

"I need to fly to Austria. There's an urgent meeting, something I can't miss," he said, as though he had already made the decision and was simply informing me. He didn't even look up from his phone.

"Austria? When?"

"In a few hours." He finally looked at me, his expression unreadable. "I'll be gone for about a week. I didn't get a chance to tell you sooner. I've been too caught up with work."

My heart sank. I hadn't even had the chance to tell him about Arjun. My cousin was finally coming back after so long, and I had hoped Ahan would be here to meet him.

"A week?" I echoed, trying to hide the disappointment in my voice. "I was going to tell you-Arjun is coming back today. He's visiting for a week."

Ahan's brow furrowed slightly. "Your cousin? The biker, right?"

I nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and frustration. "Yes, my Masi's son. He's been away for a long time, and I thought it would be nice for you to meet him. He's really been looking forward to it."

Ahan sighed, leaning back in his chair. "I'm sorry, Samira. I really can't cancel this trip. It's important for the company, and the timing is bad. I'll meet him another time."

I bit my lip, unsure how to respond. Ahan was always so calm, so composed, but I couldn't help feeling a little let down. "Okay... I guess we'll manage without you then."

He stood up, grabbing his phone and jacket. "I'll make it up to you, I promise. But I have to go now, the car is waiting outside. . "I'll call you when I land."

And just like that, he was gone, leaving me alone in the quiet apartment. I stared at the empty chair across from me, wondering when we'd ever have a normal moment together without him rushing off somewhere.

---

Later that afternoon, I waited by the door, pacing a little as I checked my phone. Arjun had texted me that he was five minutes away.

Arjun Shergill-my cousin,my Masi did marry a punjabi just like me,but it is a love marriage and not a compromise, Arjun, my brother in every sense that mattered-was finally coming back to india. He was the one person in my life who had always made me feel loved, even when my own family didn't. We hadn't seen each other in so long, and I couldn't help but smile when I thought about all the mischief we used to get into as kids.

The moment I heard his bike roar up to the gate, I rushed outside. There he was, looking as cool and confident as ever, stepping off his signature black Ducati. His helmet came off, revealing that familiar cocky grin, and his hair was a little longer than I remembered, but still the same Arjun-my sweetest green flag in a sea of red ones.

"Samira!" he yelled, holding his arms wide as I ran into them.

"Arjun! You're finally here!" I hugged him tightly, feeling a warmth that had been missing for so long. "I missed you so much!"
