(The night was dark and cold, the only light being from the glow of the neon signs on the front of Freddy's pizza. The clock on the wall ticked past 11:56 PM. There were no sounds but the occasional thump from the other side of the wall, likely the animatronics in the hallway moving between the stages and the parts and service room.)

Michael, the 20 year old security guard, sat in the small security booth in the back of the establishment. He had been working the night shift for a few months now and was starting to feel the effects from the lack of sleep. He leaned back in his chair and let out a long, tired sigh.

The sound of the front door opening and closing caused Michael's head to snap up from the desk. He heard footsteps shuffling across the floor, heading his way. He stood up and took a step towards the door that led out into the main dining area.

The door burst open to reveal William Afton, Michael's father. The 50 year old man was tall and thin, with a face that would give nightmares to small children. He pushed past Michael and into the booth.

"Michael," William said, his voice gruff. "I need you to do something for me." He picked up a folder that had been sitting on the desk next to Michael's computer and slapped it down in front of him.

*Michael's eyes darted from the folder to his father's cold, emotionless face.* "What is it?" *he asked, his voice cautious.*

*William smirked, enjoying the power he had over his son.* "I need you to keep an eye on the cameras tonight," he said. "I have some business to attend to in the back room."

*Michael's heart sank. He had a feeling he knew exactly what "business" his father was talking about.* "What kind of business?" *he asked, already suspecting the answer.*

"That's none of your concern," William snapped, his smile disappearing. "Just do what I say. Keep an eye on the cameras and don't ask any questions. Understand?"

*Michael nodded, swallowing the lump in his throat. He knew better than to defy his father. He went to sit back down in his chair, but William grabbed his arm.*

"And Michael," William said, leaning in closer to him. "Make sure you don't take your eyes off of those cameras for even a second. No matter what you hear in the halls. You got that?"

*Michael nodded again, resisting the urge to shake his arm free from his father's grasp. He sat down in his chair and watched as William left the room, the door closing behind him with a loud click.*

*Michael leaned back in his chair and let out a long breath. He looked at the security cameras on the monitors in front of him. The animatronics were still moving around in the halls, their glowing eyes staring back at him through the lenses.*

*He grabbed the monitor panel and slowly started scrolling through the cameras. There were fourteen cameras in total: one for the main dining area, three for each hallway, one for the prize corner, one for the backroom, and one for the supply closet.*

*Michael watched as Bonnie and Chica moved past the camera in the left hall, their glowing eyes looking straight at him. Something in the pit of his stomach told him that tonight was going to be a long one.*

*With a quick movement he switched cameras to the right hall, the camera panning to show Freddy walking past. His eyes seemed to be fixed on something out of the camera's view.*
