The auditorium was filled with excited chatter as students, dressed in their black gowns, took their seats, ready to receive their diplomas. The air was thick with anticipation, and the sense of accomplishment was palpable. It was a day of celebration, a day to mark the transition from University to the world beyond.

hah..something feels weird..You noticed a weird smell surrounding you. You didn't really care much of it.

It was your turn, you felt like a hundred ants were drop kicking you in your stomach. You were so not ready for a speech.

"graduation is not only a symbol of our achievements, but also a testament to our resilience and determination. I'll forever be grateful to Mrs. B-" your voice was replaced by a sharp intake of breath. A burning sensation.

you looked down, and to your horror, your hand was severed, messy gash leaving a river of blood flowing around.

The feeling was so overwhelming that you couldn't cry, or speak. You looked to the audience, your teachers.

Everyone had a wicked smile in their faces, all of their faces held the same expression, you thought it was ridiculous. You felt uneasy. did they not notice someone's hand literally getting cut off? You got off the podium, stumbling.

you walked over to Darcelle, your childhood friend, you lived in the same apartment. Even she didn't have any kind of horrid expression on her face, but it was different from others. She didn't have that wicked smile.

"Elle, what the hell?? Did you not see what happened -?" Darcelle just looked at you with a puzzled expression, "what?" She asked, observing your facial expression.

"M-my hand-it-" you looked down, but huh? It wasn't there?

"What are you even talking about?? I think the previous architecture classes are getting to you. I told you to sleep more" she folded her arms, narrowing her eyes.

What?

But it was clearly there before? You couldn't think straight anymore. You decided to ignore whatever happened that day and walked over to a cab with Darcelle.

"So like do you think we should celebrate today? But you're a loner so I can't really confirm-" Darcelle asked you, rolling her eyes.

"Excuse me? No I'm not? You go and brush your teeth or else it'll look like the traffic light right there." you spat out, making her side eye you.

"Address?" The driver asked, you turned your head to look at him. He had the same wicked expression on his face, it made you feel..uneasy? All of this can't be a coincidence right?

You ignored it once again, "ester city, just-..drop us off when you get there.." you spoke, your voice slightly shaky. Darcelle looked at you with a puzzled expression, "hey, can you just tell him the address?" She whispered, you immediately shook your head.
