"I was four when I met your Papi, he had just received his gift of visions," she recounted.
Valentina huffed as she stomped out of her house and into the surrounding forest, furious with her siblings for leaving her alone with their older sisters.
"Stupid idiots, always leaves me with them." she muttered, kicking a stone.
"Ouch," a voice yelped, causing the young girl to jump and spin around.
"Uh? Hello?" she said, scanning her surroundings.
A small figure emerged from a bush, and Valentina stared as their eyes glowed.
"Um..." Her jaw dropped.
"H...Hello," the voice stuttered, covering his eyes with his hands. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
Valentina shook her head, dispelling her speechlessness.
"No, I'm not scared. It's just so Bonita. Green is my favourite colour," she whispered, stepping forward for a closer look.
"Really? You think so?" the boy asked, tilting his head.
"Yes, my mom says I'm like a magpie, with an eye for beautiful things, whatever that means," Valentina agreed.
"A magpie? What's a magpie?" the boy inquired.
"Um, a bird, I think? Mom didn't really explain. She's not from Colombia; she says she's from a place far, far away," Valentina stretched her arms wide to emphasize.
"Wow. Like heaven?" The boy looked serious. Valentina shook her head.
"No, silly, she's not dead," she said, her tone turning grave.
"Oh. I'm Bruno. wanna Be friends?." Bruno introduced himself, sticking out his hand shyly. Valentina nodded, grinning and shook it.
"Si, I know. I'm Valentina. I've never had a friend before." she replied with a cute squeal
"Bruno?" A voice came from behind her.
"Pepa, Julieta." The boy sighed walking to stand next to them.
"Are you Valentina?" Julieta asked the shorter girl.
Valentina nodded
"Isabella is looking for you." Pepa explained, taking the younger girls hand and leading her to where a slightly taller and darker version of herself waited.
Isabella, one of Valentina's siblings, was Julieta and Pepa's Best friend, they are in the same class as each other whilst Valentina doesn't go to school .
"Tina, you is supposed to stay inside, Its is cold season." Isabella, scolded the girl.
"But i've been inside for forever Bell, You and the others go out to play all the time, you always leave me by myself with Frans and Lu." Valentina whined, Isabella shook her head, smiling at Julieta and Pepa, before taking Valentina's cold hand.
"When it's sunny you can play, but it's been snowing Tina, Mami doesn't want you sick." Isabella told the sulking girl
"Tina, Bell. Mami says it's time for Cena" Valentina's oldest sister Francesca shouted from their house.
The Two quickly said good bye before running towards the girl, who picked Valentina up and swung her around.
"I wish i had an older sister" Pepa sighed. Julieta let out an offended huff.
"You do." She said pointedly.
"You know what i mean." Pepa replied, poking Julieta's shoulder.
The little girl huffed before folding her arms, and walking away.
