Bible's POV

"BIBLE!" Roaring of my name from my dad's loud voice halts my steps.

But I don't turn around and stay rooted to where I'm standing.

"How long are you going to continue this? Don't you have any shame? You're not simply wasting your time but mine as well. Stop being a nuisance to me and be useful for once in life. How long should I still need to cover up things for you?" He rants nonstop.

"I'm not doing anything wrong and I'm not wasting my time or yours. You're simply being delusional, dad." I restort, finally turning to him.

"Isn't it wrong that you hit someone with your car? And I had to go to police to keep this issue silent." He explains the reason behind his anger.

"Oh you're being full of yourself now. I agree I hit that man but it was an accident and I actually took him to an hospital. I even fully paid for his treatment. He wasn't even going to file a case but you just had to show off yourself." I shout at him, angry that I'm getting scolded by him even when I didn't do anything wrong.

"Stop shouting at me. So what if you took him to hospital? You're still the reason for the accident. And is this the first time? You've been doing things like this all the time. You don't work and you don't help me in the business. I don't know what that degree of yours for. All you do is laze around all day long and party during nights with those bunch of idiotic friends of yours. This is my last warning to you, Bible. I won't tolerate this behavior of you anymore." He scolds me, "I appointed a bodyguard for you. He'll start working for you from tomorrow."

"I don't need one. What will he even do? I can look after myself and protect myself." I call him out.

"He isn't here to protect you but to protect me from you. You create all problems and I've to go behind you correcting them. I have no time for that anymore. I've a business to look after, I'm not ideal like you. He'll be with you 24/7 and make sure you're not doing crafting any problems. Even if any problems arrive, he'll be in my place, correcting them." He says nonchalantly.

"Excuse me! Is he a bodyguard or a babysitter? Why do he need to be around me all the time? Dad, I won't agree to this." Do I look like a child that need to be watched 24/7 to my father?

"You have no say in this. And the decision is already made. He'll be here tomorrow morning." He gives the finality and walks to his room.

"Dad, stop!" I call him and was about to follow him when I feel a grip on my wrist.

Turning around, I my brother standing behind me as he stops me.

"Did you hear what he said, phi? He's appointing a babysitter for me." I complain to him.

"I heard everything. So keep quite and agree to this. Don't make an issue anymore, Bible." I can't believe my brother is taking my dad's side.

"Phi!" I nag him. My eyes widen in disbelief.

"Enough, Bible. Don't anger him anymore. That will only make this bad." He warns. Why is everyone warning me? "I've done background check on the guy. He was in military previously and decided to quit to look after his grandmother. He seems like a good person. You don't have to worry about that." Now comes my brother, with his worry and concern.

"I'm not a child, phi. Why would I need a babysitter?" I whine as we walk towards my room with my brother's hand around my shoulder.

"Bodyguard, Bible not babysitter." He corrects with a chuckle.

"He's more like a babysitter than a bodyguard, phi. He'll be with me 24/7. Do I look like I need a bodyguard? I can take care of myself." I slump down in a chair as we reach my room.

This is ridiculous! Why do I need a bodyguard? It's like I'm some kind of a wild animal and I need a tamer. Arghh!

"Remember, dad needs him not you." My brother smiles and sits in the chair opposite to mine, "don't think too much about it Bible. Just let it be. If not a bodyguard, see him as a friend."

"He'll never be my friend." I diagree to my brother's suggestion.

"That's fine." He chuckle, "I'll be going to Paris on a business meet tomorrow. Will return after a week. Be good and don't annoy father anymore. I don't want you to complain against him like a child or him complaining about your behavior after my return."

"What? Are you leaving me, phi?" I look at him in worry.

I can't stay in this house without him. My brother is my only family in this horror house. My life is nothing but a sad story. My dad has export and import busniess. The business is so big that my father, my mother and now even my brother look at it. My dad set a bunch of rules and everything has to go according to it, including our lives. My brother and I have to follow everything he says and our lives depends on his decisions. Well, it used to be because now my life my rules. I stopped being a puppet in his hands long ago. Sadly my brother doesn't. He's like a decent son who listens to his parents. He finished his studies and started working for the company five years ago. But me, well I too finished my studies but I didn't join the business. I live my life how I want and how my father don't. I rebel against all his decisions. And he hates that. Well, I hate him too.

My parents have been always busy with work that they never had time for my brother or I. And thus, we became close. I see my brother as the only family member. He takes good care of me and loves me, he's more like a father to me than my actual father. I love him and now to live a whole week here without him and a bodyguard by my hips is like a literal hell.

"Don't be overdramatic, Bible." He chuckles while waving his hand.

"No for real! Like can't you take me with you?" I request with a pout.

"Oh! Come on. Stop being a baby. I know you can manage on your own." He says as he gets up and walks to the door. "Good night."

I slump down back on the chair with a sigh. Is tomorrow gonna be my worst day in my life? Living in horror house, without my brother and with a bodyguard? Can my life get any bad?

With a sigh, I get up and change into something comfortable and head to bed. My thoughts consume my mind and I fall asleep eventually.

"BIBLE!" Loud calling of my name along with the banging on the door wakes me up from my otherwise comfortable sleep.

Disturbed and distorted, I roll out of the bed and open the door to see my dad standing there with an angry expression. Great! Seeing his angry bird face the first thing in the morning, I can already tell how bad my day is going to be.

"Has the sun not set yet for you prince charming?" See the sarcasm in his voice. This is why I don't like him.

"What is it?" I call out wanting to get away whatever it is fast.

"Oh God! You're hopeless." He mutters under his breath and turn to his right, "come here, Jes."

A second later a tall figure walks and stands in front of me. Dressed in black pants and back shirt. Fully buttoned shirt except the first one, sleeves folded till elbows, hair styled and wore black shoes. He's handsome but what's with the black attire. Is he here for some funeral or what?

"This is Bible, my younger son and the one you're responsible for." My dad introduces me to him.

"Bible, this is Jes. Your bodyguard." My dad points to me as he tells the Jes guy.

He looks at me, his eyes going from my hair to toe and I take a step back in embarrassment. Well, he's well dressed and looking good while I'm in shorts, a lose tshirt, my hair sticking in all directions and my face grumpy as I woke up just now. What a great first impression of mine.

"Just do your work. That's all then." My dad says to Jes and walks away, leaving just two of us alone.

Silence engulfs us as none of us utter a word for a minute.

"I'll fresh up and get back." I don't even know why I told him that but again I also didn't know how to even start a conversation.

"I'll be waiting in the hall, sir." He turns around and leaves.

Sir? Did he just call me sir?
