Happy Reading 💗"I Love You Arya"
A shiver ran down my spine. I was shocked to hear his confession. No, no, no Arya, he doesn't love you. How can he? He can't... can he? Maybe I'm just dreaming. Ayan loves me? The thought itself gives me a bitter laugh.
I didn't know how to react. I wanted to say something, but the words caught in my throat. A lone tear rolled down my cheek as I glanced at him, and there he was, already looking at me. Does this mean that this is real? This is not a dream, but reality? Did he actually confess that he loves me? His eyes, full of honesty, hope, and love, confirmed it.
Love. The very thing I craved all these years, the love I yearned for when I was falling for him. The love I thought would never come when he seemed to like Ekansha, when he refused to acknowledge our marriage, or worse, when he proposed to Ekansha on the day of our wedding. The memory of his hurtful words still haunts me, the words that shattered my already broken heart.
"Arya, please, say something," Ayan's voice brought me back to the present. I gulped, trying to push down the lump in my throat.
"Umm... A-Ayan, what are you saying?" I stammered, my voice trembling with uncertainty. Why am I so nervous? This isn't how I imagined reacting, but I couldn't help it.
"Yes, Arya, I love you. I've loved you for four years. I realized how much I care for you, how deeply I've fallen in love with you. And I know you love me too—"
"No, I don't!" I cut him off, my voice trembling, as tears streamed down my face. "Stop lying! You can't love me. You never loved me! Just stop with your drama!" My voice came out broken. His words stung. How could he claim to have loved me all these years? Yes, it's true that I loved him once, but it felt like a cruel twist of fate. After everything, I thought he hated me.
"I'm not lying, Arya. This isn't a game. Please, just listen to me once," he pleaded.
"No, I don't want to hear anything, Ayan! Stop this!" I cried, my voice breaking again.
"No, you have to listen to me, Buttercup," he insisted, his voice firm and a little harsh, sending a shiver down my spine.
"Aur mai kyu sunu tumhari baat??" I yelled, my voice louder than I intended. Ayan froze. He wasn't expecting me to raise my voice, but how could he understand my pain?
"Did you ever listen to me, Ayan? You didn't. You broke my heart in every possible way. I begged you to trust me. Just trust me as a friend at least! But what did you do? You called me a gold-digger, said I was nothing but a burden to you. You told me that trusting me was the biggest mistake you ever made," I said, my anger surging. I tried to wipe away the tears, but they wouldn't stop.
"And now, you're saying you love me? Why are you playing these games, Ayan? Do you want to break my heart all over again?" I let out a bitter laugh. "But did you know this time, there's nothing left to break."
