"Harley Einstein, please come to the office," Principal Virginia Luna's voice came through the intercom.
Jett looked across the aisle as her girlfriend anxiously stood up and made her way to the door. She waved gently to her before the door completely closed behind her.
"If they're calling all of you down for statements," the teacher said, "you all just read or something."
The cops and principal Luna had been calling students down in alphabetical order to get statements and alibis. According to security footage obtained from the Thomas residence showed the killers' to possibly be high schoolers or around the same age as Eugene and Betty. That put the suspect target on the entire student body. They were all instructed to stay in their first period classes until the interviews concluded.
Jett leaned back in her seat and propped her feet up on her desk. Garfield leaned over to rest his chin on his arms. The two got their phones out and started showing each other things on the devices, whispering and giggling as their classmates either read, listened to music, talked, or caught up on homework.
As time passed, Jett dozed off in her seat, head leaned back on Garfield's desk.
"Jett Innocenzi, please come to my office."
Harley opened the door as Garfield nudged the girl awake.

"Hey, Jett," Richard greeted.
"Rich," the teenager greeted in return.
"You will refer to Detective Knežević as Detective Knežević, young lady," Principal Luna frowned.
"It's alright, ma'am," Richard assured. "I know this girl. She's friends with my son."
"She also happens to be one of our more... difficult students."
Jett snorted and rolled her eyes as she sat in one of the provided chairs, crossing her legs.
The detective turned his attention back to the teenager. "Take a seat, Jett," he gave her a smile. "I assume Garfield and Sunny have told you about what happened with Mr. Thomas and Miss Parker?"
"Yeah," the girl nodded, bringing a hand up to play with one of her new dyed streaks. "What a shame."
"How well did you know them?"
She shrugged. "We had a few classes together."
"You also physically assaulted Eugene last month," the principal reminded.
"Oh, right. I did do that."
Richard frowned and looked between the two, Jett shooting a glare at her authority. "May I ask what happened? I didn't hear about this."
"I already defended myself to Virginia. He was beating up Benjamin!"
"Off school grounds, Miss Innocenzi," Principal Luna huffed. "You assaulted him on school grounds."
"And? He was there and was shit talking my cousin to his bruised face. He had it coming."
Richard frowned deeper and looked away, pondering this development.
"Jett," the principal sighed deeply. "Where were you last night?"
"I was at the movies with his son," the teenager replied, nodding toward the cop. "Garfield can back me up on that."
"Did you go anywhere else? Before or after?"
"I was at Harley's for a few hours beforehand. She must've told you something about that."
