The conference room was filled to the brim as always. You along with your roommates and Avery had to squeeze your way through the crowd. After several minutes of searching, you finally found a seat at the far end of the hall.

Everyone was soon seated. The General that always gave you an eerie feeling stepped in unto the podium.

"Good morning dearest ladies and gentlemen, as you all know, I am General Scott, the overseer of this simulation. And I've called you for an important event today"

"As you may have all noticed, we have served little to no food and water to all of you, very irksome and annoying. Well, this is because, the base has very little supplies to manage every single person in this hall. And that's why we have come up with a simple solution. We have factions now"

"What's a faction you might ask. A faction is a group you join in the base to make yourself useful. And this base has four different factions. We have the Scavengers, the Raiders, the Planters, and the Medical Personnels. Now more information shall be given to you through your databots so you're not confused. The faction selection event will take place out in the open. Outside the base, and all you'll have to do is to walk to the faction you've chosen, fill in your information on the desk and receive your tags" He explained, his eyes running through each and every one of you to make sure you were all following.

"Now, for those who don't want to join any faction, that's fine. You can stay like the entitled citizens you are, but please know that we now have a new currency." He reached out for his pocket and brought back out a small crystal like item.

"This..." He began. "Is the core from a zombie's head" The crowd gasped.

"One gem like this is worth two basic items or whatever your seller wishes it to be worth. This is now our new means of buying and selling in this base, and whoever has none of these will not survive. Please know that we're not entirely cruel and your dorms are actually free. Meaning, you won't have to pay to stay..." The General's voice slowly trailed off from your head as you opened your databot. You wanted more information on these factions he had spoken about.

Scavengers were workers who go in search of supplies useful for both themselves and the base. They can either choose to deliver these supplies to the base for Gem rewards or keep them for themselves. However, if the supplies exceed a specific worth, there must be brought back for base use.

Raiders on the other hand were like bodyguards to the Scavengers. Their mission is to protect and defend against the "zombies" either by flight or fight. Raiders got paid according to how many gems they could collect from the zombies.
