LadyShire
The clicking of typing fingers over computer letters seemed to fill the air. The poppin of the coffee maker, sliding files of the copying machine seemed to not stop. The yell reached across the office as a somebody was escorted out by two other employees with little resistence. Mariana smirked, like the little devil she was. As if she had won a small battle on getting her enemy fired. She just couldn't understand why her enemy was smiling.
Sage walked out with her head held high and her back straight. Jobless, but free from that building ,people, and work style. Not caring for the daily meet ups, or old people gossiping about how outrageous the new generation had become in style or work ethic. It was a relief to not hear about the older women probelms when referring to kids or a sudden situation. Let the older people talk, you know the ones that are grandma's and papa age. It was nice to not have to work with the slackeys, lazy assessment and everyone who wastight by the collier.
Sage sat in her car in thought of what she had to do. The world seemed to be brighter outside the fired walls of working. No job had been worth it since the overtaking of Darkness Hunters,Harbringers, whatever you called them. Ones who darkened the world in bleak injustice. Corrupted, unused, brutal, the world brightened once more upon the return of the Dark Defenders. The true shadows of light came back to deal a final blow against tyranny.
Sage sat listening to the band play at the local football game. The timing of the instruments, shouts, hollers, all seemed to blend togather in nothing but unnecessary noise. Only the band playing seemed to make musical sense.
It was homecoming, they had the usual parade, candy throwing, and escorts.
Soon, prom would be on the horizon, but it didn't matter to Sage. Halfway convinced that a epic montage would happen and her life would be back on track. But, that doesn't happen in one's tale. The delight of being able to pick up coffee in the morning, and read a good book seemed to come back to her. Others drawed in the cafe of where she sat. Typing away on computers, phones, animals wrist watch, anything to keep there mind off the partroling Dark Hunters.
Years Later.....
Lady Shire threw another Dark Hunter into a capture van. Caley closed the door, locking it into place as he saw the van leave. Ms. Shire fist bumped him, seeing a smile appear on his face. Ms. Shire grinned back, happy to see him smiling once more.
She helped the people affected by I-Gas. Others were out cold in shivers. And it was all that place fault.
Lady Shire walked with grace upon witnessing the detoxing effect. Another player and strangely a another streamer had been cured. The score board had been updated.
