Mack

I sat there staring as the sky turned from a pitch black to a navy blue.

This is what I did every time I couldn't sleep. No matter if it was at home, on my phone, or anywhere else possible.

I finally smiled as the sky started to show some purple and orange.

My favorite part was when all the colors mixed, navy blue, purple, pink, and orange.

That was the best.

"Can I sit here with you?" I looked over my shoulder to see Luke.

"Oh. Hey, and uh.. Sure?" I stammered.

"Thanks." He whispered, then let out a sigh.

It was silent, but not an awkward silence, I liked this silence.

"I need your advice." Luke broke my comfortable silence.

"I'm listening." I encouraged, giving a nod.

"I like this girl-"

My heart dropped.

"Wait, who is this girl? Do I know her?" I asked.

Luke stared at me, and then gave me a light smile. "Yes, actually you are very close with her."

"Describe her, now." I demanded. Jealousy is getting the best of me.

"Well, she had blonde hair, but she dyed it and left some blonde in. She's in a band. The most perfect smile. Her eyes are a beautiful blue/grey. And I wish the felt the same.

"Michelle! You like Michelle! Wait, but she has brown eyes?" I questioned.

"I'm sure she has blue/grey eyes Mack, I used to stare into them almost everyday as we were best friends, until I left her for three years." He prompted, staring at me in disbelief for not getting it.

But I had gotten it.

"I don't know her at all do I?" I teased. But Luke thought I wasn't kidding.

"Mack! Think.." He whined kicking his feet against the roof.

"I'm serious!" I joked around, wanting him to say it.

"Mack!" He whined again. "Don't make me say it."

"But I dunno who it is?" I shot back.

"I know you do!"

"No i don't."

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"No"

"Yes"

"Aha! I tricked you!" Luke yelled out triumphantly, and stuck out his tongue.

I scoffed, and gave him a light push on the shoulder. "You're such a kid!"

"We could be kids together." He whispered, scooting in front of me. I gave him the weirdest smile I could give. "And you say I'm the kid." He laughed.

I scooted in between his legs, and laid my back against his chest. "I knew it was me after it wasn't Michelle, you dork." I confessed.

"I knew you did." His whispered, laying his head on my shoulder.

"So what now, we've only seen each other for a month." I stated the obvious.

"We could count our friendship before I left as well." Luke pointed out.

"Mkay, if that helps then sure." I shrugged.

"But should we date? And if we do, would we keep it a secret?"

"I say we give dating a try, and keep it a secret for a while." I spoke my opinion, and Luke nodded in agreement.

"At least I can be close with you when we're alone. And with Michelle, Kaya, and Macy."

"True."
