As i prepared the rasmalai, the sweet aroma wafted through the air, wrapping around me like a comforting blanket, mingling with the laughter and chatter of the gathering. the kitchen buzzed energy, and i felt a flutter of excitement mixed with anxiety; this was my moment to shine, to bring a piece of my heart to the table. Airah and the others joined me their voices a harmonious chorus as they carried the delicate bowls, each one a labour of love. My heart raced as i carefully placed the food on the table, hoping it would be a hit, but just as i turned to change my clothes- panic surged through me at the thought of the milk i had spilled i felt a sudden rush of dread.
after changing i hurried down the stair, my foot slipped unexpectedly, and time seemed to slow as i braced myself for the fall. fear gripped my chest like a vice, and i could almost hear my heartbeat echoing in my ears. i closed my eyes, convinced i was about to crash to the ground, but then, out of nowhere, two strong arms caught me, their grip firm and reassuring. The warmth radiated from him, wrapping around me like a protective shield, and the scent of his cologne enveloped me, a heady mix of sandalwood and ocean breeze that both calmed and excited me. i penned my eyes, and there he was -Zaviyar. His ocean blue eyes locked onto mine, pulling me in in like a tide, and i felt a rush of emotions flooding my sense- curiosity, admiration and a hint of vulnerability. those eyes, so striking yet oddly devoid of emotions, i felt like a vast, uncharted sea and i found myself lost in their depths.
just then, a chough from Airah and Ayan shattered the moment, reminding me of our surroundings. i quickly regained my compose, ready to thank Zaviyar for saving me, but he simply turned away, me with a mix of confusion and disappointment. it was as if he had vanished from the moment, leaving only echoes of our brief connection. Meanwhile, Ziyan, with his innocent laughter and boundless energy, rushed to Zaviyar, clinging to his legs with a trust that tugged at my heartstrings. in that fleeting moment, Zaviyar's demeanour transformed; he bent down, enveloping Ziyan in a warm hug, planting a gentle kiss on his cute little chubby cheeks. for the first time, i saw him smile, a radiant expression that lit up his face, making him appear almost boyish and incredibly charming. my heart swelled at the sight, a mixture of warmth and longing coursing through me as i watched their bond unfold. Despite the earlier tension, a smile crept onto my lips, and i felt a flicker of hope ignite within me- this new chapter of my life was just beginning, filled with potential connections and the promises of belongings.
As i continued to observe Zaviyar's interaction with Ziyan, i couldn't help but feel a sense of longing for that kind of connection. the way Zaviyar held Ziyan, with such tenderness and affection, stirred something deep within me. it was a reminder of the love and warmth i had always yearned for, especially in a family setting that often felt foreign to me. i glanced around the room, nothing the laughter and joy shared among the others, and i realised how much i wanted to be a part of that- how i wanted to carve out my own place in this family.
then i served the food and i stood beside them just then Ayan said " BHai did you liked the rasmalai (sweet dish) it's tour favourite, right?" Zaviyar still looking at his plate said " it tastes like always delicious because grandma has made it". then everyone smiled except Zaviyar and grandma and then papa said " Your Begum has made this delicious RAsmalai, so give compliments to her" i was a bit nervous but then he did no say anything just then grandma said " Today is your Waleema (reception) party so be ready", Zaviyar was about to say something when grandma said "that's my order, so i don't want any discussion " on it and then she left and Zaviyar also stood up and left from there for work. i did felt bad the way he ignored me and did not say anything but what else can i expect from this marriage.
as the evening approached, a whirlwind of emotions enveloped me- excitement danced with a hint of anxiety. Slipping into the exquisite gown that grandma had given me, i felt a surge of nostalgia and warmth wash over me. each delicate fabric and intricate detail whispered stories of unwavering support and love, ignited a fire within me to shine brightly. the makeup artist worked her magic, her skilled hands transforming my reflection into someone radiant and confident.
Little Ziyan was the epitome of cuteness in his charming outfit, his innocent smile capable of melting anyone's heart. i couldn't help laugh as he twirled around, showcasing his little ensemble, and my affection for him blossomed in that instant. Just then, Airah entered the room, her presence lighting up the space like a warm ray of sunshine. her genuine compliment about my appearance made me feel like a princess, and her words ignited a flutter of anticipation within me. "everyone is eagerly eating downstairs," she said, and with that a wave of excitement surged through me. as i took my first steps down the staircase, my heart raced, a mix of exhilaration and trepidation coursing through my veins.
