Sam's eyes darkened as he waited for his Bhaiya to come back home. The one thing he dreaded was silence. He could handle his family's anger, he could take harsh words, even punishments, but he could not deal with silence. Samart leaving home left a deep void in his heart. His brother was his best friend, with him gone, Sam had no one to turn to in times of distress.

His father blamed himself for what happened. His mother was overburdened with work, and a new born. Though Anita never left him alone, he felt guilty for burdening her with his problems. If he was missing his brother, she lost her son. Her pain was greater than Sam's. So, Sam learned to suffer in silence. As he grew up he realized that his father was hesitant to exercise his rights. Whenever Sam faltered his father fell silent, distancing himself further from the family. Sam could not bear the thought of losing his father. He was terrified of making mistakes.
