Nobara was sprawled out on the couch, flicking through channels with nothing interesting in sight. Megumi was in his room, probably reading, and Yuji had just left for a quick run. Today was pretty much a chill day since it was Saturday and they didn't have anything planned besides lounge around.

She was bored and she wanted to hang out with someone here that wasn't Yuji or Megumi. So who did she think of? Maki. They never hung out without the whole studying thing so why not. She opened up her messages with Maki and typed out a quick text:

[Maki]

[Nobara]
hey, you busy?

A minute later she got a response.

[Maki]
no, what's up?

[Nobara]
I was wondering if you wanted
to come over and hang out?

we could just chill, watch movies, do some girl stuff—you know, the usual. what do you say??

[Maki]
Sounds promising so why not?

[Nobara]
Really?! OK!! See you in 10!

[Maki]
Make it 5.

Nobara set her phone down and glanced around the apartment, realizing it could use a quick tidy-up. She picked up stray clothes and dishes, then called Yuji to ask him to grab some snacks on his way back from his jog. With the living room in a better state and snacks on the way, she felt more prepared for Maki's arrival.

When Maki showed up a little while later, Nobara led her into her bedroom. They flopped onto the bed, chatting about anything and everything. After a bit of random conversation, Nobara sprang up and grabbed her nail polish kit from under the bed.

"Alright, pick a color," she said, opening the case to reveal an array of polishes in every shade imaginable.

Maki tilted her head, scanning the options before reaching for a slightly glittery black. "How about this one?"

Nobara snickered. "Going full emo, huh?"

"Shut up," Maki shot back, rolling her eyes playfully. Nobara settled beside her and took Maki's hand in hers, surprised by the mix of softness and roughness in Maki's skin. As she leaned in to get a better look, she began painting the nails carefully.

"So, who's your celebrity crush?" Nobara asked casually, not looking up from her task. "I'm a big fan of Gal Gadot, especially as Wonder Woman. She just kills it."

"Yeah, I can see that," Maki replied, her eyes trailing over Nobara's concentrated face. "For me, I'd probably say Scarlett Johansson. She's got that whole badass vibe going on. Loved her as Black Widow."

Nobara blew lightly on Maki's nails to help them dry faster. "Good taste. She's definitely hot," she agreed. "What about guy crushes?"

Maki snorted. "Do I look like a boy liker to you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Nobara giggled, her eyes glinting mischievously. "I mean, yeah, but there's gotta be some guys you find attractive—even if you're totally into girls."

Maki rolled her eyes again but thought for a moment. "Fine. If I had to pick... Keanu Reeves, I guess. Especially in John Wick."

Nobara let out a low whistle. "Ooh, nice. I can respect that. I'd probably go with Chris Hemsworth."

"Thor? Seriously?" Maki gave her a side-eye, skeptical.

"Whaaat?" Nobara muttered, finishing the last of Maki's nails. "He's an attractive man, deal with it."
