You were sitting in the forest alone just a few feet from the house of the camp. You were humming softly to yourself as you made a flower crown in secret, knowing that if anyone discovered the passion you didn't tell anyone, you'd be a victim of relentless bullying. You were naturally a quiet, shy, introverted, soft spoken person so you never really liked loud crowds and many people. You knew everyone often thought you were weird for always being on your own, getting uncomfortable when people were talking to you, and you walking away if people tried to get you to do things you didn't want. But you knew your mom thought it would be a good idea to send you here to try and help you come out of your shell, so you're trying... for her sake.

Soon the flower crown was finished and you smiled at the beautiful creation in front of you. After gently feeling the petals of the flowers in your hand and smelling the sweet honey like aroma wafting from the flowers, you gently hung it on a tree branch. A small gust of wind blew by the crown, the petals gently danced and flowed in the wind from the branch in which you hung it from. After a few minutes of admiring your secret passion You walked out from the forest right outside Camp Crystal Lake, you were minding your own business trying not to be seen by anyone so you don't get a lecture from the counselors about staying with the group and not wondering off alone.

After you made it back to camp you saw no counselors, or even any kids in sight. You found it odd since they are usually all over. But you didn't see anyone, then you heard faint jeers, yelling, and chants of excited kids coming a short distance in front of the lake. You walked quickly to the sound of the jeers and chants, just to see a huge crowd circling two people. There was one kid you recognized... Jason. To you he was such a sweet, kind, and caring kid. But he would always get picked on for how he looked. But you saw past his appearance and saw the true gem of a kid he was. You then saw another kid, a very mean looking kid who was standing over Jason. What you didn't realize until too late was the kid picking on Jason, and Jason was forced to take the ruthless bullying. You got closer to hear what was happening... and to your complete shock Jason was being forced to say something over and over again.

In a shaky broken voice Jason said "My dreams are just dreams..." and the kid standing over him shoved him down to the ground and yelled "Say it again!" Jason flinched as he hit the ground he cried out with fear and helplessness "My dreams are just dreams!" "Say it again." The bully said with an audible smirk in his voice from making Jason scared. "My dreams... are just dreams!" Jason yelled through gritted teeth as tears filled his eyes, he could no longer hold the tears back. He started to cry and everyone laughed they all started to chant awful words about him being a mama's boy, the way he looked, the way he talked, the fact that he couldn't swim, or that he can't learn as fast as other people. They all then had a silent realization that they would force him into the water... and they dragged Jason by the leg to the dock. Jason screamed, cried, and begged for them to stop; but it fell on deaf ears.

When you realized what they were about to do, you snapped out of your trance like state that stopped you from moving, but it was too late. He was thrown in the water. That's when you had a sudden Serge of adrenaline and with no hesitation, you dove into the water. You grabbed Jason right as his head went underwater and with a small struggle of keeping yourself afloat with him you managed to pull his head above water. You pulled him onto your back as you swam to the dock. You grabbed onto the edge of the dock and pulled you and him out of the water.

You pull him off your back and he hit the dock with a wet thud, he wasn't fully awake so you gently shook him. He coughed and sputtered as he started to wake up. When he was fully conscious he held onto you desperately. He didn't open his eyes, since he thought you were his mom. Once he was fully aware that he almost drowned he started to mumble and cry words you couldn't understand into your chest. The kids ran off quickly knowing they were caught bullying and harassing him. After a few minutes Jason opened his eyes... and realized you weren't his mom. He got scared and flinched away from you, scared you would hurt him like the other kids. It then dawned on him that you, a kid here, didn't partake in the bullying and in fact saved him. After a few minutes you went to go get him a towel to help dry him off and warm him up. He looked absolutely exhausted as he followed you to the shed where they keep all their extra clothes, life vests, towels, tools, etc.

Once you grabbed a large, soft, warm towel you wrapped Jason up like a burrito. You then walk Jason to the dock, you figured since he almost drowned he would be terrified of it. And you were right. He started to panic when you started walking to the dock. But you reassured him that nothing would happen. He calmed down a bit, but he was still wary about walking on the dock. You then pulled him closer to you as he followed your lead to the end of the dock. Once you made it to the end you helped Jason sit down at the edge of the dock. You then helped him see the beauty of water, not just the scary side. You pointed out the beautiful butterflies that would flutter by, or the dragonflies that would dart in the air as it tried to feed.

You then showed him the beautiful large fish that swam in the water, their long tails flowing gracefully in the water. Or the bullfrogs that would sing to try and win over a lady. Jason slowly smiled as he realized the beauty in life, and not just the ugly. After a few hours of you and him getting to know each other better and laughing, the sun started to set. You both watched in silent wonder as the sky started to reveal the watercolor hombre. And once the sun has fully set you helped Jason stand up so he could go to his shared quarters with the other boy campers.

You watched him walk to the cabin to make sure he was safe, and once he was inside you smiled to yourself. You slowly laid down, your legs were still dangling off the edge of the dock as you looked up at the darkening sky. You watched as the stars started to make themselves known. They shimmered and danced in the sky. You watched as the fireflies started to wake up and fly around, flickering on and off. You closed your eyes and sighed with a happy smile on your face as you listened to the sounds of all the nighttime creatures waking up. The owls rheumatic hoots, or the bat's wings flapping. And soon you dozed off into a light sleep.
