✣✣✣Pierre walked back and forth, tugging at his hair in frustration. He held his phone, trying to reach Renee, but he wasn't answering any calls.
Pierre had gone to Renee's house, but the door stayed shut. He knew Renee was home since he hadn’t returned to the studio.
He felt restless, angry, and sad.
"Damn it!" he shouted for the umpteenth time, throwing his phone onto the couch and glaring at his best friend, Tristan, who sat on the floor with his head down.
"Are you just going to sit there and say nothing?" Pierre snapped, and Tristan looked up at him with a blank expression.
"What do you want me to say?" Tristan replied in a low, raspy voice.
"Like what you said earlier wasn't true! Just tell me it’s not true!" Pierre yelled, and Tristan groaned.
"It is true, Pierre."
"He's not answering my calls or willing to talk. What kind of mess is this?" Pierre sank down, rubbing his face in frustration.
Tristan watched him, feeling a mix of emotions. He was both sad and happy.
He was sad because he realized his suspicions were correct. When Pierre mentioned the name of the guy he's liked for for a little while was Renee, Tristan thought it he was overthinking it. The possibilities were there, but he thought it was just coincidence. It hit him hard. Yet, he felt happy too. Seeing Renee again after so long made him feel so complete. The joy he felt just by looking at Renee was overwhelming; he realized how much he missed him.
Just seeing Renee's face brought tears to his eyes, as all the memories and feelings rushed back, stronger than ever.
He just wanted to kiss him and hold him tight, never letting go. But it was too late; the man clearly didn’t expect it. Renee ran away just as Tristan realized he was really there. Panic was written all over his face, as if he was afraid to talk to him. It hurt Tristan to see that Renee seemed to hate him now.
The whole situation was a mess. Pierre liked the same guy Tristan loved. Tristan noticed the defeated look on Pierre's face; he was trying to hide it but looked scared. His fear was clear, likely about the competition now that he knew Tristan was also interested in Renee. Pierre really liked Renee, and the thought of them not seeing each other anymore upset him, especially since Renee was avoiding him because of Tristan.
Tristan hated everything happening. If he could change it, he would. He wanted to be selfish and fight for what he thought was his, but he felt he had no right to do so, thinking that Renee probably hated him and wouldn’t want to be with him.
He hadn’t even broken up with Nicole yet.
He knew he should, but he didn’t have the courage. He really needed to be braver.
He felt like such a coward.
He watched as Pierre picked up his phone, knowing he was about to call Renee again.

☘︎Renee curled up in bed, hugging his pillow tightly as he watched his phone vibrate and ring non-stop. He had turned down the volume because it was too loud and annoying for him.
His heart throbbed as the events of today replayed vividly in his mind. He never expected to see Tristan today. The moment his eyes fell on him, his heart raced like never before. A familiar sensation washed over him, one he only felt when Tristan was near. It became so intense that he felt like he was suffocating, and he couldn't stay there any longer, so he ran.
