Mother's Day

For other people on Mother's Day, they wake up and wish their mom a happy holiday. That usually also involves a hearty breakfast (sometimes in bed), presents and a celebratory dinner to round out the evening.

Things did start out that way, but not for everyone. Michellee Weebie-Am-I was lovingly greeted by her husband Guy and was given hugs and kisses from him and their two children, E.B. and Guy Jr.

Pam-I-Am, at first, was given a new bracelet from her husband Grinch. After that, the both of them checked on their daughter Jenny, this being her first Mother's Day in her new home.

A few doors down, Sam-I-Am and his fiancée Gluntz showered their little girl Molly with all the love in the world. The two of them also were anticipating the arrival of Gluntz's parents, Gerald and Lianna.

All the way in Ookia, Looka and his parents along with Sonja and her mother were given a royal Mother's Day feast.

However, at the McWinkle home, Melanie began her day with a clear fluid running down her leg and a jolt in her belly.

"Oh!", she exclaimed.

"What is it, babe?", her husband Jack asked. "Baby's coming?"

Melanie nods. She takes small breaths to keep herself calm.

"Come on, let's get to the car!" Jack led her outside and helped her into the passenger seat and then buckled Terry in his car seat.

Melanie held her baby bump as a sharp pain was slowly growing from within. This may be her second child, but it's a pain one could hardly get used to.

In between breaths, she says, "We gotta...tell the others!"

"Don't worry! I'll make the call when we get to the hospital", Jack assured her. He steered the car with one hand, the other holding his wife's.

"Oh, she has? We'll be there in a jiffy!" Pam hangs up the phone and turns to Grinch. "Jack just told me the baby's coming!"

"That's wonderful!"

"Yeah! We gotta get everybody together at the hospital!"

As her contractions continued, Melanie was kept in an unoccupied room in the maternity ward until she had to be moved to the delivery room. Jack had to split his attention between keeping Melanie company and making sure Terry didn't run off.

Every time another contraction happened, Melanie let out a "GAH!"

Finally, everyone else arrived at the hospital.

However, a nurse kept all of them from entering the room.

"Can't have too many people in there. We don't wanna overwhelm Mrs. Driscoll."

"Well, can't you let a couple of us in?", Pam asked.

"Just two more of you, but that's it."

Pam steps forward. "I'll go. She's my daughter and gotta be there for her."

"Who else?"

The others didn't quite know who deserved to be in the ward as well. Luckily for them, Jack stepped out and cleared up the matter.

"Michellee, you can come in too. The baby's gotta meet the godmother."

Michellee was delighted. "Ok then!"

"It's settled then", said the nurse. "Everyone else, you gotta wait out here."
