Jazmine Sianni Black is the daughter of Rahiem Black . A retired gang member / drug dealer. Rahiem Black found out that his wife (the mother of his kids) was cheating on him and they got a divorce. Rahiem lived in Chicago before marrying Jazmine's mother. When they got married, they moved to California for a better area for their kids. When the divorce was finalized, the twins had a choice to stay with their father or mother. Once the twins decided on staying with their father, they moved back to Chicago. Jazmine is struggling with her mental health being that she thinks she's the cause of her parent's divorce and having to move to another state and school.
Taj'mir Nasir Jones is an eighteen year old boy living with his grandparents because of his parent's situation. Which is Taj'mir's father constantly putting his hands on his mother leading up to him going to prison and his mother falling hard on drugs not being mentally stable enough to raise their kids. The reason for the kids staying with their grandparents is because the mother didn't want her kids in the system and those were the only people she felt comfortable leaving her kids with. With Taj'mir witnessing his mother getting beat on, it put him in a deep mindset that he failed to protect his mother being that he's the oldest child. While Taj'mir watched his mother constantly get beat on every other day, he tells himself that he would never be like his father and show his sisters how they should and shouldn't be treated. Taj'mir never seen how real love is supposed to look like other than his grandparents, he doesn't want to be in a relationship because he has a fear of being like his father.
