"'Do you have a car?' Layla asked Jeremy, her eyes scanning the surrounding area.
''Yes, sister, it's over there,'' he replied, pointing to a nearby parking spot in front of OHRI supermarket.
'I'll drive, give me your car keys.'' Jeremy handed them over, looking a bit puzzled.
''Where are you taking me, sister?'' he asked, his eyes narrowing slightly. Layla raised an eyebrow.
''We need to get your wounds treated. And, oh, wait... why do you keep calling me sister, huh?'' Jeremy grinned, seemingly proud of himself.
''Well, I remember you from the night of the party, and I wanted you to help me, so I used the sister card... Smart, right?'' He said it with a flourish, as if expecting a standing ovation for his cleverness.
As soon as she started driving, Jeremy asked, ''Are you taking me to the hospital, sister?'' Layla chuckled,
''You rich people are crazy, like seriously mad. Who goes to the hospital after a small beating?'' She smirked,
''We're going to the pharmacy, of course..... Let me tell you a tiny little secret: I'm actually a half-nurse.'' She said it with a boastful grin, leaving Jeremy puzzled.
''Half-nurse? What's that supposed to mean?''
Layla laughed, ''Well, I did a nursing course but left it halfway, so you see... half-nurse! Don't worry, I'll take care of your wounds. By the time I'm done with you, you'll be looking brand new. I'm just that good! Soon you'll be singing my praises everywhere you go... You'll be singing...'" She broke into a playful tune,
'"Oh Layla, Layla is the best, the best, the best... Layla is so cool, yah! Can I hear someone say Oh Layla?'' Jeremy's eyes widened in disbelief.
This girl was the craziest he'd ever met! And suddenly, an idea struck him - he could use her to irritate his brother, Jones.
A sly grin spread across his face as he thought, ''This is going to be fun...''They pulled up at Belring City pharmacy, and Layla hopped out to grab the necessary supplies for a first aid kit. She returned to the car, her hands filled with bandages, antiseptic wipes, and pain relievers. With a gentle touch, she cleaned Jeremy's wounds, applied a soothing ointment, and wrapped him up like a pro. Satisfied with her handiwork, she started the engine and drove towards the Phiamonte Villa.
As they approached the gate, she honked the horn, and the gateman, recognizing the car, swung it open with a curious expression. He couldn't quite place why a young woman was behind the wheel, but he nodded in respect as Layla drove through, Jeremy sitting quietly beside her.
"Can you help me Sister, my body is paining " Jeremy pleaded , a concerned Layla nodded in agreement as she lent him a shoulder to lean on .
When they pulled up to the Phiamonte Villa, the sun had already dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the estate. It was past 6 pm, and the family had gathered in the grand foyer, their conversations hushed as they noticed Jeremy's precarious arrival. He limped in, his face pale, leaning heavily on Layla's shoulder for support. She held him steady, her hands firmly grasping his shoulders to prevent him from stumbling. The room fell silent as all eyes fixed on the unlikely pair.
Jones, in particular, was taken aback, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief as he recognized the woman helping his brother - none other than Layla, the receptionist from his office , he mouthed "Princess? ""'Jeremy, my son, what happened to you?'' Mrs. Eleanor Ares Phiamonte, Jeremy and Jones' mother, asked, her voice trembling with worry.
'' I'm fine, mom, just a few bruises, but luckily, Sister Layla came just in time and saved me. She's my hero from today onwards,'' Jeremy replied, embracing his tearful mother.
