"Ngh?!"
Ryuji groaned as Kakeru landed a punch right in his chest.
"W-What the hell are you doing?!" Ryuji shouted, his face flushed with anger.
"You overslept—don't blame me, blame your lazy self."
Kakeru shrugged and dusted off his hands, looking completely unapologetic.
"Ah? I overslept because you dragged us through an entire night of running for our lives from the Death Spots!"

"Don't act like you didn't enjoy it, kuku," Kakeru replied with a smirk, definitely not taking him seriously.
"Why do you think I'm the problem here?!"
"Well, for starters, you're whining about it." Kakeru's tone was annoyingly chipper. "And second, if you hadn't been so slow, we wouldn't have been chased for so long."
My gaze shifted to Ryuji, who looked like he was two seconds away from throwing a punch. Not that I'd blame him. Kakeru was the kind of person who could rile up a saint if given enough time.
"I was slow because you thought it'd be fun to pick a fight with a Death Spot. Fun! Do you even know what that word means?!"
Kakeru scratched his head, as if pretending to think. "Yeah, I know. It's what we had yesterday when we got to test our strength."
"T-Test our strength...?" Ryuji's face was red with indignation. "You just started attacking it out of nowhere and dragged ourselves into it!"
Ryuji had a point. Kakeru's bright idea to test our strength had nearly gotten us all killed. But logic and Kakeru weren't exactly close friends.
"Look, stop overreacting," Kakeru said, his grin widening. "We survived, didn't we? That's what matters. And maybe if you weren't so weak, you'd have been more useful back then. Isn't it your job as the tank to cover for the rest of us?"
