Narrator pov:

Y/n was riding his skateboard to the school when he arrived at the gate he smiled as he picked up his skateboard and walked inside looking for his class seeing his door and walking in seeing some familiar people.

Y/n: What's up Izuku and uhm I never got your name.
Ochaco: I'm Ochaco uraraka and you are?
Y/n: my name is Y/n L/n nice to get to properly meet you.

Almost immediately as he said his name he was called by someone and gaining his attention he seen a red haired guy walking over.

Y/n: Do we know each other? Sick hair I mess with the color.
Kirishima: Oh right it's me Kirishima! I dyed my hair red to change some things up.
Y/n: Oh that's why your voice was familiar it's just the hair that threw me off. So how have you been-

Y/n was cut off by a tired voice as he looked over his shoulder he seen a man in a sleeping bag recognizing him right away.

Aizawa: It took 8 seconds before you guys shut up. That's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that.

Y/n noticed everyone else being somewhat confused on who he was so Y/n filled them in.

Y/n: This is Shota Aizawa. He's our teacher, if you're wondering why I know this it's because he taught me how to fight and because my aunt told me.
Aizawa: Good to see you L/n how's Nemuri doing?
Y/n: She's doing alright, you know how work is.

Aizawa nodded as they both quietly agreed about that. The class was surprised by how Y/n could talk so casually with the teacher but before anyone could ask questions Aizawa spoke up.

Aizawa: right let's get to it put these on and head outside.

Y/n took his going to the locker room and putting his own. After he finished he went outside waiting for the others, as they all arrive Aizawa began to explain what they'll be doing.

Everyone: What? A Quirk assessment test?
Ochaco: But orientation we're gonna miss it
Aizawa: if you really wanna make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions that means I get to run my class however I see fit. you've been taking standardized tests most of your lives, but never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. The country still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power Excel it's not rational one day the ministry of education will learn. Bakugo, you manage to get the most points on the interest exam. What was your father's distance start with a softball when you were in junior high?

Bakugo: Sixty-seven meters, I think.
Aizawa: Right. Try doing with your quirk. anything goes just stay in a circle go on you're wasting our time.

Bakugo stool in the circle warming up before throwing it with an explosion following behind it.

Aizawa: all of you need to know your maximum capabilities. It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro hero.

The class started saying how fun it looked and how they wanted to go next.

Aizawa: this looks fun huh? You have three years here to become a hero. you think it's all gonna be games and playtime idiots today you'll compete in eight physical test gauge your potential whoever comes in last has none and will be expelled immediately.

Y/n started to sweat a bit seeing Aizawa's eyes focused on him and izuku.

Y/n: 'Shit he knows I'm quirkless and that he taught me how to fight. But he doesn't know if I'm strong enough to handle an actual fight with a villain. Telling from that smile I'm pretty sure izuku's a target too, shit we can't fuck up here.'

Y/n was thinking to himself until he heard one of his classmates say something about this being unfair making him speak up.

Y/n: This is fair compared to everything we'll end up facing in the future as heros, Villains don't fight fair and will use any tricks to get the upper hand. With all honesty what Aizawa is doing is small compared to what a villain would do, a villain puts people's lives on the line to get their way. So what will you do then huh? You gonna complain that it's not fair or push forward to save the people whose lives are at risk!

The class looked at y/n some in awe and others deep in thought.

Y/n: If we want to be heroes we can't just think like kids anymore, we have to think like the pros do. Let's prove ti them that we're the new hope for them, let's show them that when we graduate they can retire knowing the future is in safe hands!

[The first test the 50-meter dash]

Y/n was paired up with a guy who had a belly laser, Y/n got to the end in 3.05 seconds due to his quick acceleration.

[Grip strength test]

Y/n calmed his mind and gripped the handle with all his strength getting a 125 kg

[standing long jump]

Y/n stepped up closing his eyes as he jumped his feet landed right at the edge still in the sand making him laugh a little.

[rapid side steps]

Y/n did pretty well on this test not really giving it his all but he was still pretty quick with it.

[ball throw]

(The turns went the same just gonna put Y/n last)

Y/n walked up to the circle standing there and he gripped the ball. Closing his eyes taking a deep breath bringing his arm back but right before he threw it his eyes changed turning silver, throwing the ball fast enough to make a slight shockwave as it flew high into the air traveling farm till it dropped and hit the ground. His eyes changed to normal when he turned to look at Aizawa.

Y/n: All power with a bit of speed.

Aizawa showed the class the score and by the look on his face he seemed shocked at the result.

Y/n: So what's the score teach?
Aizawa: 703.5, you've gotten a lot stronger.
Y/n: I thought it'd be way lower guess I did get stronger.

He looked at his hand confused on where all the strength came from.
