[Saturday, March

Things haven't been good lately, I've been getting bad grades, my dad's fiancé's daughter is moving in, and now I have to give up my room for her.

From what I've been told, she's been living with her dad for the past two years but since her dad is moving away, she will be moving in with her mom and us for a year until she graduates high school.

I stand inside the room that she's taking from me, going through each box I have in there. I stop when Jennifer tries to apologize to me.

"I'm sorry you have to do this, are you sure you don't want to move into a bigger house?" She asks me.

Jennifer is my dads fiancé. They have been together for three years and still haven't gotten married. I didn't like the idea of her at first but I've gotten used to her, she's actually nice.

I shake my head. "It's fine, I like this house." I answer her. I don't want to leave mainly because my friends are here and I don't like change.

She smiles. "My daughter should be here any minute now." She says, trying to tell me to hurry up in a nice way. "She will probably want to move her furniture in."

"I'll hurry." I chuckle, trying to keep her happy for my dad. I continue to get my things out of the room.

She starts to leave. "Thank you." She says, walking out the door. She seemed kind of stressed so I was being as nice as I could be.

I went downstairs to tell my dad that I finished clearing my stuff out, that's when I saw her for the first time. She was sitting with Jennifer, Sam and my Dad in the living room

"Dad, I finished." I tried to ignore her presence.

I started to walk off until my dad called me back. "Dean, come say hello to Nicole." I came back and sat down.

She was pretty. She looked a lot like her mother, they both have brown hair, brown eyes and a similar body type. The only minor difference is the height, Jennifer is taller than she is.

I try not to look directly into her eyes. "Hi." I turn away quickly.

My dad stands up. "I'm going to get started on dinner." He walks over to the kitchen. "Dean will you show Nicole around the house?" He asks me.

"Sure." I start to go upstairs. "Those are the stairs." I say sarcastically, making her giggle.

By the time I finished giving her a tour, it was time to eat. We finished pretty quickly. Jennifer tried to convince me to help move Nicole's furniture in, of course I agreed.
