The village was eerily quiet this time, the usual sounds of life swallowed by the heavy snowfall. Shadows loomed in the corners of his vision, and he felt as if the night itself was watching him, mocking his current situation.
Gyutaro was in desperate need of help, yet it felt as though the village turned a blind eye to his plight, shunning away him as if his ugly appearance alone is unworthy of compassion. His thoughts were just thinking about how everyone was probably avoiding him on purpose and his poor sister, each step crunching in the snow echoing in the silence.
He trudged through the thick, cold snow, the darkness of the night pressing in on him like a suffocating shroud. With each step, his feet sank deeper into the freezing whiteness, amplifying his sense of isolation. All he longed for was a single soul with a kind heart to lend a hand, yet the world around him remained indifferent, leaving him to fight against despair.
But as he walked forward, deeper into the village, hope flickered to life when he spotted a silhouette in the distance. Dressed in a dark red haori with unusual blood patterns, the figure has an aura of mystery. Gyutaro's heart quickened as he noticed the man's striking platinum blonde hair, gleaming in the faint moonlight. Though he couldn't see the stranger's face, the sight of him sparked a flicker of hope within Gyutaro's heart.
Without hesitation, he rushed toward the man, cradling his sister tighter in his arms, her current condition a constant reminder of their desperate situation. Gyutaro's breath came in hurried puffs as he called out for help.
" S-Sir, please! "
Gyutaro exclaimed briefly, gasping to breath for a second. His voice was charged with urgency. In that moment, the darkness that enveloped him seemed to dissolve, giving way to a ray of hope. Perhaps this stranger will be the answer to his prayers.
" I beg you sir! Please help my sister! "
Gyutaro cried out desperately, hoping the man would notice him and his sister. At last, the man turned to face them. His eyes sparkled like a captivating rainbow, each color dancing with an ethereal glow, and his features held an almost unreal, otherworldly beauty. The stranger's expression shifted to one of "genuine" concern.
" Oh my, Oh my.. how what a pitiful sight! "
He said with feigned sympathy as he gazed down at the siblings.
"Let me introduce myself... My name's Douma, and you're in luck because I'm a doctor! I'll take good care of your sister.~"
He said, offering a smile that appeared compassionate. However, an unsettling aura surrounded him, suggesting a concealed darkness lurking beneath his charming facade and innocent grin. Yet Gyutaro brushed aside these troubling thoughts, driven by the urgent need for help for his sister, who meant everything to him.
Douma then raised a finger thoughtfully, making a mocking expression as he spoke again.
"Though, on one condition.."
Douma looked at Gyutaro, his expression filled with amusement and a sinister grin.
" I treat your sister, in return you become a demon slayer ."
Douma spoke nonchalantly, explaining the role of a demon slayer as if it were just another normal topic. As he spoke, Gyutaro's eyes widened in disbelief, but the harsh reality of his surroundings felt all too familiar. Violence was an inescapable part of his existence, a constant shadow lurking in every corner of his life.
Despite the shock of hearing Douma's words, Gyutaro's mind raced, processing the implications. He then started to imagine the battles the demon slayers fought, of blood spilled and lives lost, and how the Demons have this extraordinary power far beyond that of ordinary humans. Reluctantly, Gyutaro turned his gaze toward Douma, Fear coursed through Gyutaro as he considered the demons' terrifying abilities, reminding him that survival in this cruel world often came at a high cost. Yet even if he gets killed by these demons, He HAS to protect his sister, no matter what.
Gyutaro agreed and Douma was delighted.
" Perfect! You'll be under my care, My student. "
As he uttered his final words, a trace of maliciousness seeped into his tone. Douma grinned and began to walk away, clearly expecting Gyutaro to follow. Without hesitation, Gyutaro hurried after him, This is the beginning of Gyutaro's journey.
