Mom: "Dhvani, have you seen Raghav? He left the house in anger yesterday and isn’t answering my calls. Did something happen between you two?"

Dhvani: (nervously) "N-no, Mom, nothing happened between us. Don’t worry, he’ll come home."

Raghav: "Why does everyone look so tense in the hall?"

Mom: "Well, you left in anger yesterday, so we were just worried."

Raghav: "There was an issue at the office, that’s all."

Mom: "Oh! I thought maybe something happened between you and Dhvani."

Raghav: "No, Mom, nothing happened between us, right Dhvani?"

Dhvani: "Yes, Mom, nothing happened."

Mom: "Alright, and by the way, I’ve booked your tickets to Switzerland for your honeymoon. It's a week from now, so finish up any work you have quickly. And make sure to spend some time with Dhvani too; it's all work, work with you."

Raghav: (smiling) "Okay, Mom."

Dhvani heads to the kitchen and starts cooking.

Raghav: "Mom, I’m heading to a meeting."

Mom: "Sit down and try this carrot halwa. It’s your favorite, right?"

Mom: "Dhvani, are you sure nothing happened between you two?"

Dhvani: "Yes, Mom, everything’s fine."

Mom: "Then why did Raghav say goodbye to everyone except you?"

Dhvani: "He must have been in a hurry and forgot."

That night

Dhvani: (thinking) "Good, Raghav isn’t here. I’ll go to sleep early before Mr. Mafia arrives and starts misbehaving with me. He has no respect, yet talks about love. Love, my foot! Thinking this, Dhvani falls asleep. A little while later, Raghav comes home.

He smiles, looking at her.

Raghav: (thinking) "Maybe not today, but one day she’ll understand me and my love."

He moves to kiss her forehead but remembers his promise to himself that he’ll only kiss her when she wants him to.

The next morning

Dhvani: "That Mr. Mafia isn’t around anywhere."

Raghav: "Who are you looking for, baby girl?"

Dhvani: "No one."

Raghav: "But why does it feel like you were looking for me?"

Dhvani: "Why would I look for you? You’ve ruined my life and keep me trapped like a prisoner. I can’t go anywhere or even escape this situation."

Raghav moves closer to Dhvani.

Raghav:😡😡😡😡😡 "First of all, what’s with this 'you ruined my life' talk? You have no idea how much I love you. Do you know how hard I try to control myself around you?"

He taps his gun and continues.

Raghav: "You don’t understand how obsessively I love you, but you never get it."

He moves very close and whispers in her ear.

Saying this, he walks away, leaving Dhvani in tears.

Dhvani: "Oh God, where have I gotten myself stuck?"

Raghav: (thinking, frustrated) "Damn it, Raghav, control your anger. Today, I almost shot Dhvani. This is why I talk to her calmly, but she never understands and only hates me. And what’s my fault? Just that I’m a mafia? That’s it."
